ADUT AKECH BIOR

For Adut Akech Bior, 2019 was an excellent year. The 20-year-old, who calls September issues, globally. She won a spot on the 100 list and was awarded Model of the Year at The Fashion Awards, for which she wore an emerald green Valentino gown – and the label’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, accompanied the south Sudanese supermodel (who was raised in Kenya, then Australia) to the 2018 Met Gala. While it’s her go-to couturier for fashion’s more lavish events, the radiant Aduk looks insanely beautiful in whatever she puts together; whether it’s a denim boiler suit from Zara (she’s an ex-campaign girl), Loewe ensemble complete with a bag hand-beaded in Kenya (with proceeds benefiting an elephant charity), or chromatic accents from brands as varied as Dries Van Noten, Sies Marjan, Missoni and Nike.
