About this ebook
"Tinboa", an ancient city shrouded in myth and legend inhabited by the "To'am", has captivated many people over the millennia, but none more so than a certain Professor of Mythology and Legend at the prestigious Juilto University. While most dismissed Tinboa as a simple myth or misunderstanding, they did not. After dedicating most of their life to research and study, suffering loss and celebrating gain, they finally believe they have found it.
The Professor documents their journey in this diary. The regular entries and updates detail why they went, what they found, and how it lead to an abrupt end.

Joshua Vernson is an amateur part-time Author from the UK. His interest in writing started from a young age when he used to write a number of scripts of various subjects for entertainment. In 2009, he wrote a script and showed it to one of his Secondary School teachers. The teacher was impressed by the script and eventually adapted it for a play at a theatre they worked at; somewhat predictably not crediting Joshua in the process. For a long time after this he continued to write scripts and short stories in secret, but never thought much of it until late 2017 when he decided to attempt to publish his first story “For Gudaeil”; a story based off a mixture of the stories he wrote years prior. Since then he has been working on several new books simultaneously, and hopes to develop into a more serious writer in the future.

Introduction:
Tinboa
– an ancient city shrouded in myth and legend, inhabited by the To'am, a people of great mystery said to reigned supreme for millennia, then vanished without a trace. It is said that the city was a vast metropolis capable of supporting millions of people, and harbouring technological wonders that would put even today's amazing array of technology to shame. While everyone some 5,000 years ago was busy occupying their time with the occupation of other nations, the To'am were isolationists almost to the point of xenophobia. All stories of them from roughly 5,000 years ago consist of little more than past-tense, virtually 18th-hand accounts, and plain myth. As a result of their reclusion, their exact whereabouts and what they were doing in the run up to and during their random disappearance, is completely unknown. Imagination musters in the unknown.
While the general consensus is they never existed, or have merely been blown out of proportion over the years and were in fact just ordinary people subject to wild and crazy rumours, some theories are truly unique. On the more grounded side of the argument, one theory suggests they were exterminated by themselves; civil war, a plague, or inbreeding bought about by their isolationism lead to mass extermination. On the less grounded side is they developed interdimensional travel
and they simply left this world destined for another. Since no one knows with any real certainty what happened to them, technically all 3 hold equal weight.
Like most people, I have grown up hearing of the myths and legends, but unlike most I do not dismiss their authenticity outright. Granted, most of the stories have been embellished while others have been made up entirely, but as with basically everything within the realm of reality, the truth is most often somewhere in the middle; nestled in the thick briar of limited expert opinion, elusive historical context, and the ever-turbulent scientific understanding
.
For as long as I can remember, I have always believed it to be real – with all the stories and beliefs, I refuse to submit it is all a figment of collective imagination. Thus, on my 16th birthday, I entered the Great Library of Juilto to begin my research.
Over the course of 30 years, I have read every single book about the legend, every book on languages, art, and cultures around the time period Tinboa is alleged to have existed, and every book about any legends that could in some way be linked to it. I
