    Introduction

What is neuropsychology and how does it work? This guide aims to introduce the reader to the subject, trying to convey the body of knowledge it consists of in a simple, but not simplistic way. The aim is therefore to offer an instrument of knowledge and deepening that is pragmatic and accessible, thus creating the premises to allow a deepening through more specific texts.

In order to succeed in this goal we will first of all start from a deepening of the methodologies of investigation used in neuropsychology, analyzing the different sources of the matter and discovering which and how many areas of investigation have contributed to the development of this discipline. We will then go on to investigate in depth the mnestic functions, emotions and the functioning of attention processes in neuropsychology. Finally, we will enter the fields of application of neuropsychology through the study of agnosia, apraxia, aphasia and neuorodegenerative disorders.

Neuropsychology presents itself as a fascinating field of study especially for its ability to explore the relationship between mind and brain.
