Introduction
You probably did not consider making your own hand sanitizer. Stores sell it cheaply, in a variety of fragrances and styles, and it's as good as possible. But if you have been to the pharmacy, amid a viral epidemic, such as the one that shakes the country, you probably noticed that the empty shelves as anxiety increases.
At the moment in New York, it is not easy to get all the disinfectant products (wipes, sprays, etc.), and the fishbowls filled with disinfectant bottles for hands that are usually located at the checkout are not even there anymore.
So, if that old bottle of hand sanitizer you're carrying is half empty, don't panic. You can make your own disinfectant gel with the supplies you can find in the pharmacy, or you can already have at home.
I'm not saying that you need to bathe and your children in a hand sanitizer every few minutes. Washing hands with soap and water are always the best way to get rid of germs. But after a trip where you come into contact with a lot of germs (like a grocery store, gas pump, public toilet), it's a good idea to kill some of these foreign attackers when you don't have access to a sink and soap. And when you have 11-month-old baby sitting in the shopping basket insisting on putting as much basket in her mouth as possible, you like to have a little idea that your daughter will not burst into the hives of all the germs at any time.
Many hand sanitizer products are on the market, but I found that you can make your hand sanitizer for a fraction of the cost. Most of the products you buy are made with an alcoholic base, but as the Green craze continues, more natural products made with essential oils find their way to the market. If you choose an alcohol-based product, make sure that it has an alcohol concentration of at least 60 percent, killing most of the harmful bacteria and viruses. Check the labels on your hand sanitizers, so you know they're doing the job and not just spreading the germs
