About this ebook

Self-care is one of the most important things you can do to care for yourself. It produces positive feelings which improve self-confidence and self-esteem. Self-care is also important because you can show your friends and family how good you feel when you take time for yourself. However, you will need to set boundaries so that you put yourself first and not overwork or overextend yourself.

Self-care sounds overindulgent. However, it isn’t. It is necessary for your overall health and well-being. Most of us grew up believing that the harder we work and the more we do, the more excellent we will become. However, this isn’t true. In fact, the truth is that the less we do, and the more we focus and reprioritize our lives and add rest time, the better we will feel and the more excellent we will become.

    Introduction

Most of us don’t believe that we should practise extreme-self-care. Instead, we just keep going, regardless of how we feel. We push past exhaustion levels that we haven’t experienced in decades. People are getting seriously ill. And some of these people are quite young and should be alive and well. Yet, they are unwell or dead in some cases.

This made me think, especially since I lost a few pretty dear friends close to my heart in the past few years. They ladies and gents really had so many more years of good living left. Yet, in a few months they were diagnosed with a terminal illness and died. What is happening to us and how did we get so
