Shadow Work - Khali Raymond
A Loose Soul
no longer the same kid at all
industry turned me out like a sweaty workout jacket
and didn’t understand too many demands
from fans would tear him in half
social media made a nigga too vulnerable and didn’t understand
not everything glittering is gold
almost becoming enslaved to metrics, embarrassing
god is shaking his head with disgust again
life’s worthless without likes…
whoever said that must be a dumbass
a loose soul with mileage reading his accomplishments
deep within me there’s a grave unquailed insecurity
since i open myself up to criticism and demonic possession
feedback is much different, i’m talking threats and dismissals
tending to fear my imagination
tending to suppress my intelligence
tending to stay out of the spotlight
no matter the measures i take
actions speak louder than the hustle
itself yet i find myself hustling anyway
no matter the measures i take
once the food is out, always swoop with haste to pick it up
fuck
it becomes da’ moment i’m spotted, everyone begins talking
a loose soul with baggage spelling his burdens carried
truth be told, i am damaged witness the wounds fade as
barbarians continuously pelt me with their weapons
yes, plasma splatters and skin breaks but i have experience in taking discomfort
just look at how i grew up
just look at the way i write my lines
just look at how ferocious i am whenever at the laboratory
a loose soul with a chip of granite hurling it at the witches
fuck you and ya’ magic
i’ll rupture your anal cavity after i shove the wand up your ass
a new season is approaching
you’ll wish that ya’ treated me with more respect
those stones being flung will not graze me at
