About this ebook

My life isn't your average boy next door story. It's not often a senior in high school is a runaway from home and has his 18th birthday celebration locked behind bars in a juvenile hall facility. It's not common to be 17 years old with a kid on the way and finding out the closest person to you in your life has been diagnosed with cancer. Not to mention, I'm a gay black man living in America.

Let that sink in.

It would have been an okay story, but the storytelling was subpar. Also, the grammatical errors were striking, especially for a published book. The whole thing read like a rough draft.

Very good book opened up my eyes to his struggle and life and his will to overcome is so amazing.

I’m mostly known to the world for my adult film career or better yet known as my alter-ego Daddy Cream. Some don’t know me as that person at all. This book will give insight on who Jovon is as a person, what I’ve gone through, what I’ve witnessed, what I’ve accomplished and how Daddy Cream came about. There is SOOO much more to me than what people think. People have questions and I have the answers.

The goal is to inspire others to live their truest life w/ no regrets.

I want to touch as many hearts as possible. I believe in myself and I want my testimony to allow others to be more open-minded, loving and understanding. A lot of people are confused and don’t understand life, so if I can provide my knowledge & experiences to help others, that’s what I’m going to do. If I can touch just one person’s heart with my story and it change their life, I’ll be satisfied knowing I’m doing what God put me on this Earth to do. Which I believe is ultimately to spread love and to unite my community.

This world can be a cold and lonely place at times. We have to really remain positive, therefore trying to see things as if the glass is half full, not half empty.

Currently I’m 27 years old.... but I want to take you back to the beginning, back to 1992...

I will be open and honest as I tell my story. I know my family will be surprised but what they hear me say as so will my friends & fans.

I want to invite you in on my journey. After reading this book I want anyone who has ever supported me or doubted me to fully understand who I am and where I come from. I will do my best to educate as I share my life experiences, achievements, triumphs and tribulations.

Chapter 1

Jovon Joseph Ward is my full name, and this journey we all call life began for me on January 21, 1992. I was born at Alexian Brothers hospital in San Jose, CA at 7:11pm, weighing 7 pounds.

I am a father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. I stand at 5’10 ½ (that half matters) Shoe size 12 and my favorite color is royal purple. My father is Creole and my mother is Italian. I was raised in The Bay Area up until high school. I am the middle child of 3. I have an older sister by 4 ½ years and a little brother who is 9 ½ years younger than me. All 3 of us have different dads, however we have never referred to each other as half siblings. Although being middle child wasn’t always the best, I’ve adjusted... You’ll learn later on as you read...

I’m not no Shakespeare but I know how to keep an audience engaged... Buckle up your seat belts, this is going to be one hell of a ride...

Chapter 2

Hopping fences, riding bikes, climbing trees or playing cops & robbers at the park was how we played when I was a kid. Getting dirty, being out all day getting into trouble was my forte. I was into sports, I enjoyed playing videos games or being out with friends. I never truly received the proper home training or discipline as a kid, so I pretty much did my own thing regardless of what anyone had to say. Not much has changed to be honest lol. My family may have attempted to discipline me but it never worked. I always retaliated and the retaliation would be too much for anyone to handle. I had a bad case of ADHD.

My mother, Susan and I we’re very close when I was a little kid. I was such a momma’s boy and always wanted to be around her. We did everything together. I would scream at the back door whenever she left for work. Because of her I have good taste in music... My mom put me onto all the jams.

We’d listen to everything from Usher, Jagged Edge & Monica to Kirk Franklin R Kelly & Mary J blige. She was very involved as a mother during my younger years. As I got older our relationship faded and we became distant with each other.

I never had a dad growing up, didn’t meet my dad until I was 18.

My grandmother Ellen practically raised me and my sister. More so my sister as she never lived with my mom only lived with our grandma. I was always back and forth between my mom’s house and my grandma’s house. My mom was always around but I don’t think she fully understood how to be a parent until my brother was born.

Not faulting her considering she had 2 kids by the age of 21. She birthed my sister at 16 years old.

We took family vacations, mostly to Disneyland. Grandma was always surprising my sister Jenelle and I by simply saying we’re going to Disneyland! with our bags already secretly packed. Jenelle and I would hop in the back of grams Volkswagen with our walk-man, Nintendo game boy and our snacks, ready for the 6-hour drive from NorCal to SoCal. With the roads pitch black, stars shining above, we would hit the 5 freeway and be on our way.

To this day, I still enjoy going on long drives. Just makes me happy on the inside. Maybe it stems from when I was younger but the peace a long drive brings me is satisfactory.

Grandma always wanted what was best for us, providing us the best childhood memories. The holidays we’re a special time
