Dish Towel Toppers
I really like to have a dish towel hanging on my drawer pull by the sink. It’s a handy way to have something to wipe your hands on after doing the dishes or working in the sink. You can use any size towel you want. Coordinate the colors with the décor in your kitchen. For this topper I’ve used Super Saver yarn, but cotton or bamboo yarn would work just as well. Look on the yarn label to see what hook size is recommended and use that hook size.
Before you crochet a topper onto the towel you will need to create a base on which to crochet on. You can do this two ways; either punch holes into the towel or run a blanket stitch across the top of the towel.
To use a blanket stitch mark off ¾ inch increments across the top of your towel. Thread a sewing needle with heavy thread or crochet thread and make a knot at the end of the thread. Insert the needle from back to front of the towel and pull through. Insert the needle again from the back to the front to form a loop and secure the thread. From the back of the
