Back To Basics - Giangi Townsend
YOU
WELCOME
Would you rather run a marathon instead of fixing a simple meal? Do you break out in hives just by reading a recipe? If you answer yes to any of the above questions, then you are in the right place.
Welcome to Giangi’s Kitchen!
One of the most frequent questions that I’m asked is What advice would you give someone new to cooking?
I LOVE answering this question, because it’s an opportunity for me to share that, contrary to what many people believe, cooking is not hard or stressful — or at least, it shouldn’t be.
It’s a very creative and energizing experience. I tell people to imagine that they are an artist, and their kitchen is an open canvas. While the result is essential, real happiness comes from relaxing and enjoying the journey, especially if you can share it with your family.
To me, cooking is my creative outlet, where I am continually trying to improve my recipes by tweaking them here and there. But mostly, I stay close to the classic recipes and update them often. I love to cook for my family and friends and found great pleasure seeing them lay back on their chair, belly full, and being happy to have enjoyed a good home-cooked meal. I always thrive on making people feel comfortable but not trying to impress.
Just remember: Successful recipes are often the easiest ones to prepare.
Professional chefs do not create a recipe or pull one out of a hat, but they evolve their style based on recipes they enjoyed, read, and tasted. You can and will do the same.
With this Giangi’s Kitchen e-Book I will grab you by the hand and guide you through your kitchen. Eliminating any fears and giving you the confidence that you too, can handle any recipes. Familiarizing yourself with the world of cooking, knife sharpening, what to use, how to read a recipe and execute it, types of cooking to what your pantry always needs to have in it.
