Death Should Not Take You By Surprise

About this ebook
“The Mention Of The Word ‘Death’, The Sound Of The Word ‘Death’ And The Very Subject Of Death Is Something That Causes Fear, Trepidation, Anxiety, Worry And All The Negatives In The Minds Of Most Human Beings, Sending Chills Down Their Spine When They Hear It. But Death Should Not Be Feared If One Has Lived His Life For God And Been Fully Dedicated To God Just Like Paul Said In Philippians 2:21, “For Me To Live Is Christ And To Die Is Gain.”
Rather, It Should Be Something To Look Forward To Like One Of The Saints Of Old Said Before He Passed On To Glory, “I Shall Soon Be With Jesus; Perhaps I Am Too Anxious.”
Death Will Only Take You By Surprise If You Did Not Live A Life Totally Dedicated To Serving God And Man.
‘Death Will Not Take Me By Surprise’ Is Definitely One Decision No One Can Make For You; You Must Make This Decision For Yourself. You Cannot Even Leave This To Your Loved Ones No Matter How Close You Are!”

Death Should Not Take You By Surprise - Michael Hutton-Wood
Introduction
roseTHIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO ANY OF US:
Luke 16:24-31, New International Version (NIV), ‘So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’
THE MENTION OF THE WORD ‘DEATH’, THE SOUND OF THE WORD ‘DEATH’ AND THE VERY SUBJECT OF DEATH IS SOMETHING THAT CAUSES FEAR, TREPIDATION, ANXIETY, WORRY AND ALL THE NEGATIVES IN THE MINDS OF MOST HUMAN BEINGS, SENDING CHILLS DOWN THEIR SPINE WHEN THEY HEAR IT. BUT DEATH SHOULD NOT BE FEARED IF ONE HAS LIVED HIS LIFE FOR GOD AND BEEN FULLY DEDICATED TO GOD JUST LIKE PAUL SAID IN Philippians 2:21, For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.
RATHER, IT SHOULD BE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO LIKE ONE OF THE SAINTS OF OLD SAID BEFORE HE PASSED ON TO GLORY, "I shall soon be with Jesus; perhaps I am too anxious."
YOU CANNOT EVEN LEAVE THIS TO YOUR LOVED ONES NO MATTER HOW CLOSE YOU ARE!
THE TRUTH IS THAT THROUGHOUT LIFE:
Nothing is more reliable than man’s last words. Even the liar then speaks the truth and gossips preach the gospel instead.
Your life is not your own to live it anyhow. YOU HAVE ONLY ONE LIFE AND YOU MUST MAKE IT COUNT!
You didn’t bring anything into this world and you wouldn’t take anything back. You came naked and will go back naked but you can make a major decision now and engage in TRANSACTIONS THAT WILL HAVE ETERNAL EFFECT AND SIGNIFICANCE BOTH HERE AND IN ETERNITY. That is what a countless number of people discovered on their deathbeds and that is what this book is all about. No one’s influence in your life should be more important in your life than God and HIS KINGDOM or HIS INTERESTS.
One look at someone’s deathbed, be it in the hospital, hospice, at home or whatever the location, often tells more than all the great words and deeds during his or her lifetime. When death confronts people, they drop their mask. There are many who, in their last moments, had to admit that they had been building on the sand instead of the rock (Matthew 7:24-27).
They were misled by an illusion and they followed a terrible lie and sometimes people. Instead of living for God, they lived for things and for themselves. Instead of making up their own mind, via the word, they allowed people whose praises and approval they craved for to dictate to them what to do or say.
Aldous Huxley wrote in the foreword to his book: BRAVE NEW WORLD
that one should judge all things as seen from one’s death bed.
IN EVERYTHING YOU DO, AND SAY, USE YOUR LIFE AND TIME MORE PRODUCTIVELY!!!
ABRAHAM LINCOLN SAID: ‘IN THE END, IT’S NOT THE YEARS IN YOUR LIFE THAT COUNT. IT’S THE LIFE IN YOUR YEARS.’ i.e. what you did with your life and not how long you lived. It will all be about Donations, not Duration!
Should we want to know what is truly in the hearts of men, there is no better way than listening to their words and more importantly their last words.
Below are a collection of the last words: Shocking And Daring LAST WORDS Of Great Men And Women i.e. a few of those spirits who have departed this world, both the spirits of saints of the first millennium and those of secular people of the second millennium and beyond, some of whom at least strove to rise above the vanities of this world.
From Page 38 of the book PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE by RICK WARREN, Pastor Rick Warren said, ‘WHEN YOU LIVE IN LIGHT OF ETERNITY, YOUR VALUES CHANGE. He continued: If your time on earth were all there is to life, I would suggest you start living it immediately. You could forget being good and ethical and you wouldn’t have to worry about any consequences of your actions. You could indulge yourself in total self-centredness because your actions would have no long-term repercussions.
But, and this makes all the difference; death is not the end of you! Death is not your termination, but your transition into eternity, so there are eternal consequences to everything you do on earth. Every act of our lives strikes some chord that will vibrate in eternity. The most damaging aspect of contemporary living is short-term thinking. To make the most of your life, you must keep the vision of eternity continually in your mind and the value of it in your heart. There is far more to life than just here and now! Today is the visible tip of the iceberg. Eternity is all the rest you don’t see underneath the surface.’¹A

WORDS OF GREAT MEN AND
WOMEN
roseADONIRAM JUDSON on his deathbed said: DEATH WILL NOT TAKE ME BY SURPRISE!!!
PAUL said in Philippians 2:21, For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.
JESUS said: It is finished!
In 2 Timothy 4:6-8, when he was ready to die, Paul boldly declared in his final charge to Timothy, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
What will BE your last words AS YOU LEAVE THIS EARTH?
There is this saying: DON’T LEAVE THIS EARTH HAVING LET EVERYONE ELSE USE YOU BUT GOD.
What can you say you have done for God since you were born, got saved or since the beginning of this year?
How
