Connor Whiteley

Hello, I'm Connor Whiteley, I am an 18-year-old who loves to write creatively, and I wrote my Brownsea trilogy when I was 14 years old after I went to Brownsea Island on a scout camp. At the camp, I started to think about how all the broken tiles and pottery got there and somehow a trilogy got created. Moreover, I love writing fantasy and sci-fi novels because you’re only limited by your imagination. In addition, I'm was an Explorer Scout and I love camping, sailing and other outdoor activities as well as cooking.Furthermore, I do quite a bit of charity work as well. For example: in early 2018 I was a part of a youth panel which was involved in creating a report with research to try and get government funding for organised youth groups and through this panel. I was invited to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party and how some of us got in the royal photograph. Finally, I am going to university and I hope to get my doctorate in clinical psychology in a few years.

    PROLOGUE

    YOUR WORLD WILL BE ash.

Your galaxy will be a corpse.

Your universe will be a graveyard.

That was the aim of the virus.

The Virus of a Thousand Nights was my creation.

    It was a last resort.

It was unsanctioned by the Solas High Command, but I knew that we needed it.

The Solas knew of eight other universes in our dimension and we needed to protect them from the Undead, even if it meant that we lost our universe in the process.

Even now as I pour the parasite into the Box of Damnation; that was forged from the Star Gods’ bones and the ritualistic sacrifice of trillions; I know that this last resort was a mistake.

Looking upon my red scaly shaky hands, I know that this ultimate act will never be used by the Solas.

I know that the Undead will win before a Solas has the courage to enact this atrocious virus protocol.

However, thinking about the future I know that this virus will be recorded and in thousands of years or even billions of years into the future, people will come for my creation.

I only wish that they knew what the virus truly does because the information that I gave the Solas Inquisitors when they investigated me were all lies.

That is why I must hide this virus from all; Solas, Undead and other species; in fact, I will guard this virus until the end of days when I know someone will come for this virus, yet be warned hunter or seeker of this creation.

If you are not worthy or pure enough then I will strike you down and you will learn what the virus is truly capable of as the virus WILL kill you!

However, if the Undead ever gets a hold of this secret recording. I will tell you this information. Your time is done. The virus will be unleashed in a few billion years and the Solas will have their revenge.

You may be able to corrupt us.

You may be able to convert us.

You may be able to end us.

But, do you ever think you will be able to end the God Magi and her son?

    CHAPTER 1

    GRAND MASTER! WATCH out!

A bomb exploded next to Garro seconds later, the Grand Master’s ears were ringing loudly.

With a thought, the ringing stopped.

Thank you, Captain, Garro nodded, as he looked at the small fragile human that was firing shots rapidly at the encroaching 5th Legion Angels.

Another thunderous explosion heralded the arrival of even more 5th Legion abominations.

In their thick black armour, the 5th Legion advanced using their overpowered guns as well as swords, as they slaughtered all who stood before them.

Grand Master, we cannot hold them for much longer. You need to go! the Captain ordered, as a bullet exploded his right arm off.

Burn Heretics! Garro bellowed as purple flames jetted out from his left hand.

Fire! a fatigued 5th Legion Captain commanded as thousands of bullets were fired towards Garro.

With a thought, Garro melted them but he wasn’t strong enough to do that trick again.

    The Captain’s communication device flashed.

Captain, the beasts have destroyed our Slidespace engines and our weapons, a voice reported before the sound of his bones shattering ended the transmission.

Planting two shots in a Legionnaire’s chest, Garro repented: I’m sorry Captain when I hired your vessel. I didn’t think that the 5th would come after me so viciously. I’m afraid that I damned your crew,

The Captain’s clothes were soaked with blood, but he uttered: No Grand Master, you provided us with hope. You gave us a chance to make a difference and that is enough. Yet you MUST go, Garro. If you die here then humanity will be lost,

Snapping around Garro executed six traitor marines that were pouring onto the ship in one bloody arc of his staff.

When he glazed back on the Captain, he was dead.

    Garro- I’m here.

That computerised voice could only belong to one person: Kortana.

Garro needed to hurry and escape this mercenary ship if he wanted any hope of getting to Gablib.

Three squads of 5th Legion abominations surrounded him.

Smoke slowly started to fill the passageway as the hundreds of pipes that littered the poorly built ship had begun to spill.

Grand Master Garro, you are to accompany us to Gablib at the request of Lady Kortana, a heavily mechanised voice uttered.

Sensing who the speaker was Garro could sense that the voice’s owner was more machine than man now after decades of hard service to both the God Magi as well as the Arch-Heretic Kortana.

    If I refuse? Garro inquired.

That is not an option. Lady Kortana said you must come, or you will be forced,

I respectfully decline the offer, Garro replied before striking down his staff creating sparks that lit the smoke on fire.

Moments later the Legionnaires were screaming as they were engulfed by flames and their armour melted.

Walking carefully over to the mechanised Angel, Garro looked at him one last time.

This Angel was bulkier than average with thick black oil pouring from his wounds.

In addition, his face wasn’t human as the only human parts of his body were his brain and one eye.

With a thought, Garro lit the black oil and walked away.

Hearing the Angel scream in agony as the extreme fire killed him.

You might think that the act was extreme, but this was Grand Master Garro. He had grown bored and rageful at these heretics for all the damage and killing that they had done in the name of false leaders.

Turning a corner, Garro walked down the spinal corridor of the ship and with each step he crushed ten bodies.

Somehow hundreds of corpses lined the corridor.

Focusing on them Garro noticed that these corpses were men, women, child, young, old and even pregnant.

The 5th Legion didn’t care who they killed.

Although, Garro did wonder one question: Why massacre the entire ship if Garro was their target?

Although, Garro stared at one corpse for a second longer than the others. The corpse was a young girl’s shattered body with deep marks from abusive parents. These parents were now with the Undead thanks to Garro.

In Garro’s opinion, he had truly hoped that this incredible young girl had escaped and would go onto change the galaxy for the betterment of the unborn generations.

Garro quickly stopped thinking about her death as his blood boiled.

    Garro- I see you.

Snapping around the Grand Master annihilated a nearby security camera.

Gunfire erupted nearby as the 5th Legionnaires came for him.

Quickening his pace, the Grand Master quickly recapped why he was here in order to figure out his next move.

After the events of the Maproom, Garro, as well as Inquisitor Confucius, had started to make their way to the world of Gablib.

Nonetheless, warbands of the Supreme Grand Master had plagued them. making space travel very dangerous.

Furthermore, the God-Magi had sent Confucius new orders when they were travelling past a Fortress world that was plagued by the traitor fleets.

Resulting in the Inquisitor abandoning Garro to deal with Kortana alone.

In Garro’s honest opinion, he was delighted to some extent as this meant that he could deal with Kortana in his own way.

On the other hand, it meant that Garro was a lone light in the forever encroaching darkness of this rebellion.

Upon reaching the hangar, Garro stormed in. His weapons raised.

This small chamber that was barely large enough to fit three escape pods, as well as one shuttle, was empty.

Smiling to himself, Garro started to walk towards the shuttle before suddenly stopping dead in his tracks when he started to smell cooked flesh.

    Show yourself Kortana! Garro ordered.

Kortana complied by stepping out from behind some crates- smiling at Garro.

With a flick of her wrist, the shuttle was engulfed in flames.

My beautiful Garro, you cannot leave,

    Kortana please,

No, I have been patient long enough,

Garro was extremely puzzled as a thought occurred to him.

Kortana, why execute the entire ship? And why hunt me when you know I will find you eventually?

    Kortana smiled.

    Garro immediately knew the answer.

Suddenly, screams of pure death and chaos erupted overhead as well as Garro sensed hundreds of Undead rifts ripping into reality.

This is a trap for the Undead. The death would draw their glaze and you can... destroy the ship?

I know that it’s a temporary fix at best but if I can banish a few thousand back to the Undead Realm then it’s worth it,

    So, the hunt for me?

As Kortana started to hack into the ship’s central mainframe to overload the engines. She replied: A partial cover and I needed to make sure that you were safe,

Garro was about to enter a small white metal escape pod when Kortana said lovingly to him: Garro, I and my forces will not attack you anymore until we see you on Gablib,

    But...

But there are about five ships worth of traitors that WILL hunt you. They serve Jeremey more than me. Just be careful and we know that you will travel to the spaceport first to get information on the vault,

Sensing that the engines were about to obliterate the ship, Garro launched the escape towards Gablib’s spaceport.

Behind him, the ship was atomised and Garro heard the horrific death screams of thousands of the Undead.

Yet there was one scream that slammed itself into Garro’s mind:

We will find you. We will hunt you. We will burn you, Child of the False Magi!

    CHAPTER 2

ROARING TO LIFE, THE guns of Our Martyred Lord rapidly fired as the traitor fleet advanced.
