About this ebook
What we do for a living has a massive impact on our life. Our job affects the people we associate with, the way we see the world as well as our financial security and social status.
Many people know that they want to change their career situation. But they often don’t know what steps to take to work their way up into a better job. As a result, they find themselves feeling ‘stuck’.
So if you’re feeling stuck with your career situation, let me ask you this, think of people who have worked their way higher up than where you are currently stuck at. In all honesty, are they actually more intelligent or capable than you are? Realistically, is there anything they can do that you are unable to learn?
Let me assure you, that unless you have some kind of intellectual disability, then the answer is most definitely ‘no’. I am in the business of human potential, and what I see time and time again, is that the mistake people make is to look to their past limitations when determining their future potential. You may not have had the success that these people have had in the past, but there is nothing that you cannot learn to do. You just need to know the steps and, most importantly, the unspoken rules.
Shane Cuthbert
Shane Cuthbert (1990) was born in the Hawkesbury region of Sydney, Australia. Shane grew up in western Sydney. Shane was only 15 years old, when he was kicked out of home and high school. As a teenager Shane struggled with feelings of worthlessness, not being good enough, depression , anxiety and addiction. Shane eventually overcame all this and began touring as a professional drummer. Shane's once simple status was elevated, due to the success and notoriety he received as a touring artist. As the years passed and opportunity and chances of success subsided, Shane had hit what he refers to as "cognitive rock bottom". Feeling that all his prior success was but behind him and he would again fail to achieve or amount to anything, he had his first real opportunity to reinvent himself and change his life. Shane started a small landscaping business that grew into a large trade & services company. This company established multiple businesses and franchising opportunities soon followed. In 2014, Shane started and developed his own State Of Glory brand of clothing, and entertainment website also of the same name. In 2015 Shane Cuthbert married Australian swimsuit model and public figure Berenger Rose. Despite much controversy and allegations by Rose of Cuthbert's alleged domestic violence, the pair are still supportive of one another and are actively promoting and growing their businesses together. In 2017 Shane graduated Justice and contract law at Harvard University, enrolled in the study of Psychology at the University of Queensland, developed his first online coaching course, began offering mentorship services and wrote the first book, in his self help series. In 2018 Shane's first book "SEX TRANSMUTATION" became available and was released worldwide through Amazon.

INTRODUCTION
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND THEM
It would be nice to think that job positions are based on merit. But deep down I think we all know that this is not entirely true. The job market is not fair (even though, especially in the public service, put a lot of effort into pretending that it is). Its competitive. Its just that the rules of the competition are more obvious to some than they are to others.
The only difference between the people who have worked their way up further than you, is that they know the rules better than you do. That’s what gives them the upper hand, but its about to be what gives you the upper hand instead.
They may know the right people as well mind you. But the main benefit they get by knowing the right people is when those right people share the right insider knowledge that others are not privy to.
And when they have the right knowledge, they know the right things to say, especially during an interview. Most importantly, when you know things that others don’t, you think differently. And it’s the way that more successful people think that leads them to opportunities that others miss out on. This in turn makes them more confident, which in turn makes them more appealing to employers, especially when it comes to the more competitive jobs.
In my own companies, I’ve had to employ a lot of people. I have reviewed hundreds of job applications and have trained my own HR staff how to look for the ‘hidden’ red or green predictor flags that indicate how someone thinks (which we can use to predict how they will act). The red flags mean that, no matter what the person’s experience, we should steer clear of them. The green flags mean we should chase after them and compete for them to snatch them up before another employer gets to them first.
Even if its in a different industry, that other employer becomes our competitor. They may not be competing for our customers, but they’re competing for human talent. And the talents that employers crave the most tends to be rare. So when we see them, we pounce.
As you read on, you’ll learn a few simple tricks and unspoken rules
