Truly terrible twos

Glowing with pride, my arms outstretched to her, I watched as my 11-month-old daughter Grace took a couple of steps before stumbling into me.

I bundled her up as we giggled together.

Aren’t you clever?’ I said to her, beaming.

‘She’ll be running circles around us in no time,’ my partner David, 49, laughed.

We were proud parents. And who could blame us?

We’d worried that Grace had been a little late in hitting some of her developmental milestones.
