About this ebook
The recipes gathered here consists of traditional, borrowed, and created pie recipes. Of course, most of the pies are the ones we have enjoyed over the years, handed down from generation to generation. There are new twists on the old recipes with added ingredients which enhance the goodness of the other pies.
The pies in this book focus on the holidays, gatherings and pot-lucks. There must always be pies.
Our traditional pies of pumpkin, pecan and mincemeat remind us of holidays, while others remind us of family members who always served their traditional pies at family gatherings. Who could forget potluck at church, family reunions and work. Each person contributes one or more pies each year that will always remind people of them.
There are the traditional pies such as apple, peach, fruit, lemon and chocolate. The newer cooks have taken these and made them even more delicious. Chocolate Peanut Butter pie takes the traditional chocolate pie and adds the peanut butter which makes a wonderful combination. You can never go wrong with peanut butter. The traditional blueberry pies can have strawberries and blackberries added to create a mixed fruit pie. The combinations in this book is wonderful pie ideas.
