Introduction
Introduction
Sometimes, life can become a very difficult journey. When we have a million things on our mind, and when we are dealing with the anxieties that life throws at us, it is all too easy to lose sleep over these things. If this sounds like you, you are not alone!
Instead of continuing to struggle against the hurdles that life puts in your way, it is time to learn how to overcome these obstacles in the healthiest way possible. From this moment on, you can learn how to turn to guided meditation when you feel there is no other option.
People tend to forget just how important sleep is, especially for our daily activities. In order to get started on the right foot, you must first get a full night of rest. A full night of rest does not include the tossing and turning or the thoughts that just can’t seem to stop. Through meditation, you will learn to breathe properly, relax your body, and relax your mind.
While this may seem slightly difficult at first, I promise that with practice and dedication to your journey of guided meditation, it will become easier and easier for you. You must put in the work to achieve the reward of inner peace.
In the sections to follow, we will be moving through several guided meditations to invite peaceful sleep into your life, guide you through times of anxiety, teach you how to relax in any given moment, and we will finish with some deep breathing exercises.
Whether you are dealing with anxiety or you are just looking to sleep as peacefully as you used to, you are in the right place. If you feel you are ready to begin, we will first start with some sleep meditation. I invite you to find a comfortable space, put away any distractions, and we can begin when you feel that you are ready and in the right headspace.
Part 1: Sleep Meditation Scripts
As we begin our guided meditation journey together, we are going to begin with some helpful sleep meditation scripts. If you feel like the most difficult part of your day is turning off your brain and falling asleep, you are not alone! In fact, it can be very hard to be completing tasks throughout the day and fall asleep without thinking about what you did that day or what you still have to do the next day.
Instead of focusing on everything else, I invite you to just think about the present. As you bring your focus on your breath, I want you to let all of your thoughts go. What happened before does not matter, and what happens after does not matter. All that matters right now is your breath and falling into a deep and comfortable sleep for the entire night. Just breathe, and we can begin with our first deep sleep meditation.
Breathing Practice to Settle in for the Night
Before we dive into meditation, it is important that you first understand how to find your breath properly. When we are stressed or anxious, it is all too easy to forget such a basic concept. Under stress, our heart rates rise, and breathing rates get faster. If you find this is happening to you right now, that is perfectly okay.
We are going to work on breathing together.
Before we begin our first meditation together, I first invite you to make yourself as comfortable as possible in bed. Go ahead and turn off your electronics, say goodnight to your loved ones, and give yourself time to settle in for the night.
If possible, you will want to try to make a routine out of this. When your body learns a new routine, it will begin to expect it, so if you want, try to set a bedtime for yourself and give some time for some guided meditation.
As you settle into bed, find yourself a relaxing and comfortable position. As you settle in, I want you to feel the bed give you a nice, comfortable hug. Right now, you should be letting go
