Jaysen True Blood

Jaysen True Blood was born and raised in the Midwest where he currently resides. His first taste of writing came early in grade school with a class assignment. a few years later, his love for writing would return as he found himself with another class assignment, this time a poetry unit. through junior high, he would write a series of novels, many poems, and begin his long interest in writing song lyrics as well. In high school, he would learn the value of tall tales, myths and other kinds of stories as he continued to build his store of stories. upon graduation, he went for a semester at a university, where he would write two stories, one of which would become a serial online for about six months. Returning home, he worked at just about anything he could find, but never strayed far from his love of the story. After his first marriage, he signed on with Keep It Coming, an e-zine, where he wrote two serials, "Tales From The Renge" and "Breed's Command" (the same characters appear with Fancy Marsh in several subsequent westerns. The serial was taken from a manuscript written for a class assignment while in high school). H also wrote writing and music related articles for the print version of KIC that came out for just three issues. When KIC went under, Jay was once again forced to work at different jobs just to make ends meet. between 2007 and 2010, Jay would release "Seven By Jay: Seven Short Stories", "The Price Of Lust: Book One Of Faces In The Crowd" and "So Here's To Twilight And Other Poems".

Heartbroken Bopper - Jaysen True Blood

    1.

At fourteen, Natalia was a beautiful young lady. Now a Freshman in high school, she was quickly learning how to control the boys. She loved teasing them. Still, Toby had her heart.

Her reasons for teasing other boys had always been to make Tobias jealous and it seemed to work. He seemed to become very agitated when she teased another boy. Or flirted.

But then, he was a couple grades ahead of her. He was a Junior. After graduation, he would likely leave for bootcamp. Many of the older boys were.

But that was a year away. Until then, he was still the male lead in her imaginary movie and she was the female lead. And she wanted him to know that she wanted to tease. To drive him insane.

She wanted him to know that she wanted to be his. Well, she wanted to be in his heart, anyway. She was still too young to want much else.

In her mind, love was a tool. Hearts were toys. Emotions were meant to play with.

Nothing was supposed to be all that serious. It was all just a passing fad. Something she could use for her diary.

All except what she felt for Tobias. That was supposed to last forever. They would graduate and marry.

Well, after she got established in Hollywood, anyway. Not before. She couldn’t afford to be tied down in Iowa.

There was nothing here for her. No parts in movies. No parts on Broadway.

In Iowa, there was no chance at fame. Sure, she could grow up and try for a seat in the Assembly or try for the governorship. But how many Iowa governors had ever been truly famous?

None. Nor had any Iowa Congressmen or women. Or any other state official.

None who had gone to DC had ever gained fame either. Absolutely none. Politics didn’t attract fame. At least not the kind she wanted.

She wanted to be worshiped. She wanted her name in lights. She wanted the world to bow down at her feet.

And staying in Iowa would prevent that. After all, she was the star of the show. She was the only one allowed to steal hearts.

And Toby would always be her leading man. Always. He just didn’t know it yet.

TOBIAS HAD NOTICED Natalia. She was filling out quite nicely. It was getting harder to leave her alone.

She also knew all the right buttons to push. She knew that it made him jealous when she flirted with the other boys. And when she teased them.

She knew that she was teasing him as well. He supposed that was why she did it. Why she tried everything to get his attention.

He supposed that he would go with her, but there would be little physical contact. Not yet. He had to gain her trust.

He would have to make her believe that he wouldn’t hurt her. That he had her best interests in mind. That they could date without all the intimate stuff. Well, other than hugs and kisses.

That would take time. Maybe a year or two. But it had to be done.

He had to have her complete trust if he wanted things to happen as he desired. After that, he could do as he pleased. And once he had, he could leave her behind.

He smiled. It was a good plan. Very deceptive.

The setup. The betrayal. The abandonment.

He would use her for all she was worth. First as an illusion of change to gain the Mob’s trust so that they would relax their grip. Then, as a way to punish her father for what he had done to his family.

He quickly wrote a note and folded it up, writing her name on it. He passed it to the boy beside him and requested that he send it on. The boy did as he asked.

He watched as Natalia took the note, looked around, then opened and read it. He watched as she wrote a reply and passed the note back.  He smirked.

His plan had been set in motion. He could begin to work his charm. And gain her trust. Again.

He would wait until she was under his spell. Then, he would do his worst to her.

NATALIA WAS ECSTATIC. Tobias had asked her out! She could barely contain her joy. Their romance had temporarily ended at the end of the last school year, but now they were a couple again!

She had wandered off to another crush, but he still held her heart. She was now ready for a renewed romance with him. Not that it would last.

Romances with her never lasted long. Her attention span did not allow it. At least, not yet.

But a few months here and a few months there was good enough for her. And from time to time, her friends and sister could reach her. From time to time, she would listen to their pleas.

But never for long. She wanted what she could never really have. She wanted Toby to settle. To become law abiding.

In a way, she realized that he could never change. Not that drastically. Never enough to be a good man.

He had been allowed to be wild for too long. He had been allowed to do as he pleased for too long. One could never return from that.

Deep down she knew this, but she continued to imagine that he could. She would deny that he was as bad as everyone said he was.  She would continue to hold out hope that he had actually changed as he promised.

She thought she loved him. She thought he loved her. She believed that they would last once he changed.

He continued to lead her into believing that he was changing. He would continue to deceive her. He would continue to lead her astray.

But she would always believe him. She would listen to his lies. All until it was too late.

    2.

Nick was beside himself . America had moved even closer to entering a war they could not win. And all because a group of damned generals who’d never been in Vietnam.

It didn’t  matter to them that it was a giant logistics cluster fuck. It didn’t matter that it was a potential meat grinder. All that mattered was that the wealthiest were pushing for it.

And Ike wouldn’t stand up to them. Was Eddie Hoover that powerful? That the President had no balls?

No, Ike was an old warhorse. He still had strength enough to take on Eddie. Damned little imp.

There would definitely be more ‘advisers’. But these advisers would be their yes men. They wouldn’t argue against a war. They would advocate for one.

He feared that the military had lost its way. Vietnam posed absolutely no threat to the US. It really had little to offer except minerals and lumber. Things that a minority wanted to own so they didn’t have to pay for them.

Damned thieves. Corporate thieves. That was what they were.

He spat on the floor of the HQ tent. If they were forced to fight these wars, war would cease. He was sure of it.

    But the rich could
