    Welcome to my first ever book! My name is Matt Philie and to put it simply, I’m a YouTuber with about 200,000 subscribers and more than 33 million views. To many, my numbers may seem quite small. If you were to figure out my rank among other creators, it’s safe to say I’m definitely really far down on the list. However, many people have tried to create a channel that reaches this following and haven’t had luck. That goes to show just how tricky social platforms can be. Now imagine trying to do that AND getting companies interested in paying you to promote them.

    With all that in mind, I’ve worked with well over two hundred companies on brand deals of all sorts. I’ve made more money than I ever imagined I could when I first joined YouTube as a twelve-year-old. I have been paid to travel to events like a movie screening with Kevin Hart and most of the items I own have been sent to me by companies of all sizes. The craziest part is that I did all this with an extremely small following. And you can too, seriously.

    TYPES OF BRAND DEALS

    There are many types of brand deals and they vary based on the platform. I’m not going to cover every single one that exists, but I’ll touch on the most popular. You’ll quickly realize that although the verbiage may be different from one platform to another, it’s pretty easy to figure out what types of deals can exist on other social networks. The best part is that you can come up with a totally unique approach and pitch it to brands, there really are no rules. Think outside of the box and figure out the most organic way you can integrate a brand into your already existing content. Try not to go off track too much since what you’ve done so far is the reason you have an audience you can advertise to.
