We all remember our first car. It might have been a Zephyr, an Anglia, or maybe even a Corolla. Whatever it was, it was probably a cheap shit box with next to no power — something that would get you to school or to work before eventually being superseded by something a little better. We all remember our first car, but for most of us memory is the only ownership of it that we still have — well, unless you’re Nick Callagher. Yeah, the mean HR sedan you’re reading about is the very same one he bought as a 15-year-old, although it’s taken more than just time to turn it into what may well be New Zealand’s toughest Holden HR.
