‘Natural alternatives led me to a healthier lifestyle’

ASHLEIGH MURFIN, 32, lives in Pretoria with her husband Duncan, 34, and their toddler Sloane. She works as a full-time assistant to two doctors, and has her own side business, Living That Oil Life, selling home-made natural essential-oils products.

“Living a healthy life and making natural choices to boost your well-being may sound like a lot of work, but nothing compares to the feeling of deep inner vitality you get from making choices that lead to living a cleaner, more natural lifestyle. Like most, I didn’t give much thought to the household and skin products I was using other than if they appealed to me. My diet, too, was typical of a fast-paced city life, with ready-made meal options often featuring in my grocery basket. Then, at the age of 27, I suffered a stroke. Newly married, and with my whole life ahead of me, I knew in the months after my recovery that I wanted to make wholesale changes to get my health back on track.
