THE CAREER PATH TO LONGEVITY

BURNING THE CANDLE at both ends, working yourself to an early grave – few idioms about hard graft offer much hope for longevity. But analysed the lives of almost 700 people, categorising them based on their level of success in their careers. Its first conclusion was unsurprising: a high level of attainment (defined by job prestige, leadership roles or a respectable annual income) lowered mortality risk during the study period. After all, it makes sense that you’re likely to be healthier and happier if you can afford to treat yourself.
