Taiwan’s renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theatre celebrates 45 years with a two-night performance at the Esplanade Theatre. After nearly five decades of paving the way for contemporary dance in Asia and making Cloud Gate Dance  Pangdemonium’s This Is What Happens To Pretty Girls is a provocative, polarising and brutally honest original new work inspired by the #MeToo movement. Written by local playwright and award-winning director Ken Kwek, the play was created from interviews with over a hundred women and men. “This play is partly a journey of my own reckoning with the #MeToo movement. I see this as being as much a men’s issue—if not more so—as it is a women’s issue,” says Kwek. Directed by Tracie Pang, the cast includes Oon Shu An, Pam Oei and Adrian Pang.Visit   In a year filled with commemorative bicentennial events, The Necessary Stage responds with the audacious play, Civilised, written by Haresh Sharma and directed by artistic director Alvin Tan. Examining the complexities of colonialism past, present and future, the play also explores how a nation recovers from the tragedies and disempowerment that colonisation inflicts.Visit   Fitness and music enthusiasts will love the dynamic roster of activities to nourish the mind, body and soul at wellness and music event, AIA Glow Festival.
