    About the Author

    The Power of I AM

The mystery of identity plays a significant part in our everyday lives. A craftsman knows his craft and has confidence in his skill, because of his experience. But if the craftsman developed amnesia and forgot who he was; to hand him a tool and ask him to perform his craft would be catastrophic; emotionally and physically.

We are who we believe ourselves to be; doubt and fear notwithstanding. To the extent that we are committed to that identity, we work and sacrifice; gaining a level of success and reputation. When others agree that we are skillful, our reputation or identity is established and our success is extended beyond the local gentry.

In the spirit world our status is established in the finished work of Jesus Christ. As we establish ourselves, in him, we gain a skill set; by using his faith in compliance with his will. Our reputation proceeds us, in the invisible world of the spirit; whether we are an easy mark for the devil’s deception or a strong bulwark of faith that quenches his lies. This is what the sons of Sceva discovered.

Ac 19:13 ¶ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. [14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? [16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Knowing who we are, in Jesus, is paramount, to our success or failure, in the things of the world to come.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, [5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come.
