A piece of YM history up for sale

Geoff Pack’s Apache 40 catamaran, Foreigner is on the market. The multihull, which is based in Trinidad, was used by the former editor of Yachting Monthly as a platform to develop many of his ideas, which he wrote about in the magazine.

One of the most significant was hydraulic drive, which saw Geoff replace the boat’s twin Mercedes engines with a single engine in the cockpit.

Geoff sold Foreigner to Alan Armstrong in 1993 after he returned from Trinidad to take over the editorship of YM.
