Terrance the Terrific - Julia A. Royston

    Introduction

I have been a veteran teacher and librarian of twenty-two years and a full-time entrepreneur for nearly two years at the printing of this book.

I have seen the potential in many students, adult and children alike who didn’t realize their potential. It took someone or something else to show them just how special or in Terrance’s case, ‘terrific’ they really are.

My purpose for writing this book is dedicated to young people and especially young men to realize just how terrific they really are. Even though I don’t have biological sons of my own or had a brother, I see the hunger, anger and need to be accepted and loved.

I also see the great potential, intelligence and natural ability that each of is given. I get excited for others very easily. I want to continue to write, share and publish books that help bring the greatness out of each of you and for the world to see.

Terrance is not the only one that is Terrific. You are too. Bring out the terrific in you.

    Takes one to know one.

    Blessings.

    Julia Royston

    Meet Terrance

Terrance Edmonds come in this house right now! Margaret Edmonds said through the kitchen window looking outside at her son sitting on the patio on the picnic table that was now covered in a tarp for the fall and winter. There was an overhang over the patio but no sides or enclosure. She had watched Terrance periodically put his arm out and the rain soaked it.

    Oh mom, I’ll be fine.

No, you won’t be fine. You’ll catch a death of a cold.

How can I catch a death of a cold?

My mother told me to stay out of the rain so it’s my job as your mother to help you stay healthy, germ free and alive. Come in this house.

Oh Margaret, let the boy be. He’s just playing in a little light rain. Milton Edmonds said from behind the evening newspaper in his favorite easy chair. Even though he was in another room, the house was wide open floor plan with limited doorways and hallways. The Edmonds always wanted more children so they told the realtor to find them a house where they could keep an eye on their kids anywhere in the house. They only had one child and they both kept a close eye on him.

Milton, this is not a light rain. It’s raining cats and dogs out there.

    I don’t see a dog or a cat.

Terrance, don’t be talking smart back to me.

I’m sorry mom, but I just love the rain. I love how it makes me feel and it’s comforting somehow.

"I remember when we brought you home from the hospital. Your grandmother wanted the doctor to let you stay in the hospital one more day because of the rain. The doctor said there is a covering over the front door and wrap him up good, he’ll be fine to take home in the rain.
