Massive and radical changes in Agriculture would happen, in this wave there is a need to understand the situation of majority of population still dependent on agriculture.

    Introduction

By occupation, a farmer is the one who is connected with earth more than anyone else.

Among all the occupations Farming is the most superior occupation, as without food no one could live.

Some of the fundamental and universal questions relevant to farmers are: Why the pride of a farmer is diminishing? Why a farmer is not honoured by civil society? Why livelihoods based on agriculture are vulnerable?

Over a period, the agriculture sector is turned from sustainable to unsustainable agriculture. Exploitative of resources and the farmers is maximum in the agriculture sector. The new practices and technologies are degrading the very resources which sustained farming practices and the communities. The loss of biodiversity and biomass, soil degradation, water pollution, groundwater depletion, pesticide residues in the produce, greenhouse gasses released, etc., are some of the impacts. The scientific community and the policymakers introducing and promoting GMOs, BT crops, High yielding varieties, and chemical pesticides and fertilizers are also responsible for this pathetic situation.

The intensification of agriculture for food security
