INTRODUCTION
Acupuncture points are the places where acupuncture needle is applied for the treatment of diseases. This acupuncture point location and the therapeutic result are related.
Acupuncture point locations are related to Qi and Blood flowing and this energy system defined pathway from internal organs and meridians converges and disperses.
Therefore, the locations of acupuncture points are certainly related to physiological functions. Stimulating acupoints in meridians of the affected area may be effective and stimulate meridian points for each disease to approach the affected area.
Stimulation through acupuncture points can correct imbalance and blockages in the flow of energy for restoring health.
WHO in their standard acupuncture nomenclature identifies the 14 main meridians, 361 classical acupuncture points, 48 extra points, 8 extra meridians and Scalp acupuncture lines.

1 Methods of Acupuncture points

There are three methods of Acupuncture point location which are used in clinic at present.
1. Anatomical Landmarks 骨度 折量定位法
Anatomical landmarks include 2 landmarks which are Fixed landmarks and Moving landmarks.
1) Fixed landmarks
Fixed landmarks which would not change with body movement. It is five sensory organs, hair, nails, nipple, umbilicus, and prominence and depression of the bones. They are for example, Ex 1 印堂 (Yintang), Du 25 素髎 (Suliao) and Ren 8 神阙 (Shenque)).
2) Moving landmarks
It refers to appear when the part of body keeps in a specific position, and for example, when the arm is flexed and the cubital crease appear, LI-11 曲池 (Quchi). SI-3 后溪 (Houxi) which is made from fist, the point is at the end of the distal transverse crease of the palm.
2. Proportional Measurements 指寸定位法
Human body which is width and length of various portions of the body are divided respectively into definite numbers of proportional measurement. These are standard on any sexes, age and body sizes for patients.
3. Finger Measurements 指寸定位法
