Introduction
Meditation tends to come across as being a bit confusing, difficult, and intimidating. Most often it’s due to the nature of the information that’s available to the public. There are many videos, articles, and gurus around the world that insist that their way is the perfect way; bombarding the new student with too much unnecessary information and too many complicated techniques, forcing them to sit in contorted (and sometimes uncomfortable) positions to reach an optimal state of being.
While there are some tips regarding where, when and how it should be done, meditation is an incredibly personal experience. The goal is to remove yourself from your mind, to detach from the world to achieve peace, clarity, and overall well-being and happiness. This is why there are so many variations of what is considered the right way.
It is an exercise for the mind, allowing it to quiet down and allowing you to reach the inner parts of yourself that are normally not known to you (Rama, 2013).
Through the course of these exercises, you will learn a great deal about the basics and how to adapt from there. You can customize each of the given practices to fit in with the
