About this ebook

This book is written to test “soft skills”, as close protection is a thinking man’s world and to get to the higher paying more prestigious contracts you have to be able to think on your feet and plan in advance. There are hundreds of question to which there are no easy or “yes” or “no” answers. You as a bodyguard are in the business of protecting people. That means that your playing field will change every day as people’s moods change. You need to be able to not only understand this – but stand above it and learn how to deal with difficult people who really have no idea what or how hard your job can be and in some cases they frankly don’t care. The answers to these questions and many more can be found in “Close Protection – The Art of Protecting Others” ISBN 978-3-941101-29-6 (Printed version) and. ISBN 978-3-941101-30-2 (e-book version)

As a bodyguard you are going to hear all kinds of things when riding in the car with your Boss, some of the things will make you smile, some will frustrate you, some will make you angry and some you will simply not understand. One of the fastest ways to unemployment is to give any kind of unsolicited comments, opinions, mimics or body language as reactions to the things you hear. The hotel owner gives him a key to every available room in the hotel; as soon as the visitor walked up the stairs, the hotel owner grabbed the 200 Euros and ran next door to pay his debt at the butchers. The butcher in turn took the 200 Euro and
