About this ebook
“High School. Two words that struck fear into the heart of every armless middle schooler I knew. Which was me. And like two people online.”
The sequel to the critically acclaimed Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus follows Aven Green as she confronts yet another challenge: high school.
“Those preparing to ‘slay the sucktastic beast known as high school’ will particularly appreciate this spirited read.” —Kirkus (Starred review)
Just as Aven starts to feel comfortable in Stagecoach Pass, with her friends and schoolmates accustomed to her lack of “armage,” everything changes once again. She’s about to begin high school . . . with 3,000 new kids to stare at her. And no matter how much Aven tries to play it cool, nothing prepares her for the reality. In a year filled with confusion, humiliation, and just maybe love, can Aven manage to stay true to herself?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is my new favourite book, I couldn’t stop reading and once I finished it I thought about it a lot. The story of Aven’s life in high school isn’t like any other. She goes through some very hard times but in the end it only makes her stronger. This is a wonderful story that shows the true meaning of family and why it’s so important to love and trust them. At times I wanted to jump right into the book to help Aven but I knew that she was going to be alright. Never give up and always believe in yourself. Be like Aven.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Although Aven was born without arms, she determined to enter high school on a confident (or rather, blasé) note. But her confidence is shaken when she is the subject of a cruel prank. Dialog is breezy, brisk, the self-deprecating humor crackles.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sequel to Insignificant events in the life of a cactus, Aven starts High School and realizes that trying to fit in is a lot harder than she thought
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved both books in this series. Beautiful, loving, humorous story :0)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book. I honestly did not now it existed until I googled Dusti Bowling. I was so happy there was a sequel and even happier it was on Scribd. I could not have enjoyed this book more and it deserves 5 stars.
