    I dedicate this book:

To people with diabetes who found the courage and the will to improve their health and quality of their lives, regardless of their diagnosis, and to serve as inspiration to others,

To medical scientists and healthcare professionals devoted to researching and understanding of diabetes, development of more effective and safer treatments, providing their patients with quality health care, and finding the ultimate cure for diabetes,

To Raymond Holliwell, Bob Proctor and other great people who shared their wisdom and knowledge about the Laws.

    About the Book

    Is This Book for You?

If you are less than 18 years old, do not read this book unless your parent or your legal guardian has read and approved the book.

Are you an adult person who lives with diabetes? If you are, then yes, absolutely, this book is for you!

This book is primarily written for people with diabetes, yet it is for almost everyone.

This book is for you even if you do not have diabetes.

Perhaps you know that you are under the risk, and you want to prevent or delay the development of diabetes. Maybe you just want to be more prepared in case it happens to you.

Does your family member or a friend live with diabetes? Are you a parent of a child with diabetes?

Are you a healthcare professional, or a diabetes educator? Is your profession related to diabetes in some other way?

Perhaps you have some other reason for being interested in the topic.

Even if none of the above applies to you, even if you stumbled upon this book by chance, I believe this book is for you. Read it, and you will find out why I think so.

What You Should Know Before You Continue Reading?

This book is not meant to replace any classical way of diabetes education, psychological support, or medical treatment, by any means.

The book is not encouraging you to disregard any advice given to you by a medical professional. Of course, it is your right to be sufficiently informed by your healthcare professional about your medical condition, benefits and risks of different available therapy options, and about possible consequences that may arise if you refuse a treatment. Also, it is your privilege to give or deny your consent to any of the proposed treatment options or to stop with your therapy at any moment if you wish.

As a medical doctor, the author of the book strongly believes that recommendations from the evidence based medical treatment guidelines indeed should be followed when adjusted for individual patient’s health status, needs and personal values. Therefore, if you find yourself inspired by this book to do anything that might interfere with the medical advices given to you or with the medical treatment prescribed to you, please discuss that with your healthcare professional before you make any decision.

This book offers you something beyond that.

    •  knowledge,

    •  awareness,

    •  understanding,

    •  motivation, and

    •  inspiration

which will empower you beyond your imagination.  Equipped with all the above, you will soon start:

    •  Thinking healthier, happier and more constructive thoughts,

    •  Easily giving up things that are less valuable than your health,

    •  Obeying the laws easily and habitually,

    •  Being more successful in building your health and happiness.

How You Can Use the Book?

You can use the book as you wish. If you wish, you can use it as a decor, a doorstop, a hard pillow or a self-defense device. After all, it is your book now. However, to achieve the best results you should read it – at least couple of times. Why should you read the book more than once? Every time you read it, you will get something new from the book. That will happen not because this book is magical and new words can appear on its pages, but because at different times you will be focused on different words in the book. Between two readings you will gain new knowledge and experiences that will allow you to be more aware of specific messages the book is trying to deliver to you. As the time passes you will change and so will your understanding and interpretation of the book.

First time you should read it from the beginning to the end, but without hurry. Pace the reading so you can have at least one week to contemplate, experiment and reflect on each of the Laws before you proceed to read about the next one. It would be also good idea to have a notebook for your reflections, remarks, thoughts, ideas or personal reminders on the actions you want to takes some time after you stop reading.

After you have read the book for the first time, read it again when you feel that you need it; read it in such order, that fits your needs the best. For example, sometimes you will be interested to read again the whole chapter about the Law of Non-Resistance, and other times you will want to read only a few sentences from the Law of Increase chapter. Occasionally you will want to open a random page to receive a message for the day. Follow your intuition, and enjoy.

If, for any reason, at some point you decide that you do not need the book anymore, please give it to someone else as a gift. That someone is attracting the book into his/her life and you can be the instrument by which the Law of Attraction can express itself. By giving the book, you will receive something else. Be curious and see what it is.

Throughout this book you can read some quotes from the book Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell. It is an excellent book that has impacted my life positively. Among many other things, that book contributed to my inspiration to write Diabetes and the Eleven Mighty Laws. About the Author

Write this section in a third person, demonstrate your authority and credibility on the subject of your book, and keep it under 200 words, recommended the experts. I chose not to obey. I chose to be more personal, exposed and (please excuse me) a bit more extensive.

Hi. My name is Salih Valjevac and I do not consider myself to be an authority on the subject of this book.

Still, I wrote this book because of unstoppable urge to share the old knowledge that I became aware of just a few of years ago. I wanted to share my views on how the information, which I have stumbled upon fortunately, can help millions of people with diabetes to make their life much healthier and happier. Someone had to do it. Then, why not me?

Although I have a strong family history of diabetes, and although I was obese and prediabetic at some point of my life, I do not have diabetes. Therefore, I do not know firsthand what it’s like to live with diabetes; I can only imagine. Many people with diabetes have shared their experiences with me, and I used my own similar non-diabetes-related experiences to imagine what they were going through and how they have felt.

I am a medical doctor, but I am not an endocrinologist, nor have I worked in general practice. Still, I do have medical knowledge about diabetes, its related complications and the therapies. I do understand how healthcare systems and pharmaceutical industry function. I worked in an agency for healthcare quality and accreditation, and I worked in a major pharmaceutical corporation.

For seven and half years I was a public affairs manager in a world’s leading company that produces diabetes medications and medical devices. I worked with healthcare professionals, leading experts in diabetes and endocrinology, policy makers, ministries of health, public health institutes, healthcare insurance funds, non-governmental organizations and media.  Of course, that allowed me to expand my knowledge and to gain many diabetes related insights from very different perspectives. However, cooperating with patient organizations and developing close relationships with their representatives is what helped me the best to grow fuller understanding of life with diabetes.

It was never just a job for me. It became my mission to really understand the unmet needs of patients, and to use my knowledge, connections and the company’s resources to help improve lives of people with diabetes. Long, deep talks with many representatives of patient organizations resulted not only in myriad of projects and programs supported financially by the company I worked in, but also in many precious friendships that I still cherish.

Parallelly to my work, I got interested in the old teachings about the universal laws. Raymond Holliwell’s book Working with the Law introduced me with the eleven laws and the wisdom contained in it influenced my life more positively than I could have imagined. I began to understand how the wisdom can help people with diabetes even where healthcare systems and medications have failed.

Soon, I decided to make a sacrifice. I left my job, and dedicated all my time and energy to writing this book which will help you and millions of others.

    The Eleven Mighty Laws

I'm so happy and grateful now that [1] this book is helping you and millions of other people around the world in making the life with diabetes much healthier and happier.

It is not a coincidence that you are reading this book. You attracted this book into your life, and I attracted you to get the book and to read it. I cannot know exactly what you did to attract the book, only you can know that, but I know what I did to attract you. I used and obeyed the Law of Attraction. In fact, I did my very best to obey and use all eleven mighty laws so that this book, which was at one point a mere thought in my mind, could come into existence and find its way to you. I sincerely hope that you will too use the laws to make your life with diabetes much healthier and happier. However, to use them most effectively you first must understand them well. The purpose of this book is to help you understand the Laws.

I first learned about the eleven laws from Bob Proctor’s teachings. I listened to Bob’s The 11 Forgotten Laws recordings for hundreds of times. Then I read Working with the Law by Raymond Holliwell, several times. That is an excellent book, and I think you should read it too. I also read, listened and watched many different materials about the Laws, and I was persistent to use the learnings in my daily life. The more I understood and learned how to use the laws properly, the more my life improved in every aspect. The more I obeyed the laws, the more I became healthier, wealthier, happier... It was, and still is, a phenomenal experience. The knowledge I have gained empowered me significantly, and I am forever grateful for it. Moreover, something else has happened to me. The more good I brought into my life with the help of this knowledge, the more desire to share the knowledge I felt. It didn’t take long before I got very clear idea and strong determination to write this book.

Like most of the people, sometimes when I hear big numbers at first glance, I do not really grasp their real meaning. Roughly, 415 million people lived with diabetes in 2015 worldwide.  I saw that statistics many times, and I knew that one out of eleven adult persons lived with diabetes, but it really struck me when I realized this: if I was to meet one person with diabetes every minute of my life, without sleeping or any other kind of pause, it would take more than 789 years and 6 months (which is more than eleven average lifetimes) to meet 415 million people! Instantly I felt so small and the problem seemed colossal. Then an inspiring thought emerged in my mind. What if I could do something to help even a small percentage of 415 million people to improve their health and quality of life? Wouldn’t that be something? No question about it, I thought, it would still be a huge contribution. I knew exactly what I desired to do, and more importantly, I knew I was able to do that.

There is a marvelous inner world that exists within man, and the revelation of such a world enables man to do, to attain, and to achieve anything he desires within the bounds or limits of Nature.

    Raymond Holliwell

According to the Rule of Halves, only around 6 percent of all people with diabetes achieve desired health outcomes! In other words, only about one in sixteen live healthy life without developing diabetes complications such as heart attack, stroke, vision loss, kidney failure, foot amputation... In contrast, the big majority, 94 percent (that is almost 15 out of 16) of them fail to do so. Why?

Well, to some limited degree it may be related to the state of economic development of the countries they live in, or to the development of healthcare systems and their access to health care, or to some other factors that seem to be out of their control. Still, in any country in the world you will find a similar ratio with a small group of people who live healthy lives fully despite their diagnosis, and a big majority that struggles. You can find rich and well-educated people in both groups as well as those who are not so rich or educated. In fact, you can find two persons with diabetes, from the same socioeconomic class, living in the same neighborhood, having the same doctor and access to the same therapy... and you can still have one of them achieving desired health outcomes while other fails...

Why was that so, I wondered. The more I thought about it, the more I was interested in finding the reasons. I spoke to hundreds of people with diabetes and healthcare professionals, I searched the clues in all kinds of diabetes related literature, from a simple patient education leaflet to peer-reviewed medical scientific journals, I followed many topics and discussions on social media and specialized internet portals... Every day with every new bit of knowledge, a connection between the eleven laws and the good life with diabetes was becoming more and more obvious for me. I concluded that those lucky six percent that were achieving desired health outcomes surely must have used the laws to their advantage, consciously or unconsciously, knowingly or unknowingly. You see, although many people do not necessarily know the laws, the definitions and the exact modes of expression of the laws, they still obey the laws and therefore benefit from it.

What Are the Eleven Mighty Laws?

The Eleven Mighty Laws are universal laws of nature, just like the laws of physics. They have always existed and they will always exist. They affect everyone and all the time. Regardless of our awareness or knowledge about them, the laws are always working. The Eleven Mighty Laws determine that certain ways of thinking, feeling and acting always produce certain types of results. Therefore, it is extremely useful for all of us to understand them well and to learn how to use them to our advantage.

The very first small steps you may take in that direction is to learn their names and let your curiosity lead you on the journey. Here they are:

Law of Thinking: We become what we think about.

Law of Supply: Anything that we really need already exists and is available to us.

Law of Attraction: We attract what we focus our thinking on.

Law of Receiving: When we willingly give of what we have, we will receive what we have attracted.

Law of Increase: Everything that we praise and that we are grateful for will increase.

Law of Compensation: We will always be fairly compensated for whatever we do.

Law of Non-Resistance: To lessen any

resistance, we must respond to it in a non-resistant way.

Law of Forgiveness: When we forgive, we heal ourselves.

Law of Sacrifice: We sacrifice to gain, not to lose.

Law of Obedience: When we obey to the Laws, we
