It’s a stalemate, Elizabeth said from her computer.

Abraham stood opposite of her, In what way? he asked.

In every meaningful way I can think of, Elizabeth answered. Almost none of the planetary governments will engage with anyone I send in any meaningful way. They will say nice words but it is never with the intent of meaningful cooperation. The SSS engages with us as little as possible and will have awfully convenient ‘accidents’ when it comes to the deliveries they agreed to. There is nothing we can do with our current resources to engage the Golem. The station’s FTL inhibitor would stop any of our missiles from getting closer than 5 AU, and at that range the point defenses would destroy them before they could do any harm. Direct weapons can’t penetrate the shield, either.

I assume the plans for an attempt at cutting off supply are not viable, Abraham observed.

I can cut off supplies coming from Rukast, Elizabeth said. The problem is the placement of the Golem on the outer edge of the system makes it so they could just get resupplied from outside of the system with ease, especially since we suspect the Golem has help from outside the system.

And you’re calling it a stalemate because so long as you stay outside of the firing range of the Golem Patriarch lacks the ability to eliminate the Goddard, Abraham said.

There is that, yes, Elizabeth agreed. "Finally, on top of all of that, are the Mars Decrees violations on the surface I’m supposed to be looking into and dealing with but it seems like I can make no progress their either. The only thing resembling success is I can probably prevail on a contested emergency declaration, but I’m not sure how much good that would actually do.
