About this ebook
The Singularity is the hypothetical future creation of a superhuman artificially intelligent entity, in the form of a humanoid robot or cyborg, that possesses greater technological, problem-solving and inventive skills than normal humans and, through continuing self-replication, has the potential to attain human consciousness. These superhuman AI entities will have a greater intellect than humans, but will they be wiser? Will they feel pain or love like humans? Will they wage war or keep the peace? Will they respond to humans as equals or will their coming mark the end of the human era? Only time & the advance of technology will tell.

PROLOGUE-THE HUMAN WAR
The year is 2187. A global war rages across the surface of the Earth. Hundreds of millions of human beings are dead or dying. Millions of robots that served humans are destroyed, disabled or lost. Around the planet, small pockets of survivors, both human and robots, strive to survive in shelters, in mountain caves, in tunnels under cities, in remote geographic locations far from the raging war, and in buildings ripped apart, burned or crushed by weapons of mass destruction.
This is the story of one such pocket of survivors, struggling to survive in a science research laboratory many levels below the ground in a destroyed skyscraper. There are three survivors, but no humans. The human era is over. This war is the beginning of the post-sapiens era. The era of super, artificially intelligent robots and cyborgs designed by the humans as helpers, but victims themselves of man’s essential inhumanity to man. It is the end of an era of human self-destructiveness, where war won out over wisdom, where death overcame life, and where the human-like robots were as innocent as the men, women and children who eventually died in the
