About this ebook

This delightful board book will make the little ones in your life giggle at the absurdity of a fly on the phone and a carrot in the tub. The text's repeated asking Have you ever seen…? preceding the refrain No way! will have toddlers yelling “No way!” themselves as you read through these silly situations. Celebrated artist Elise Gravel brings the silly to a new level in A Potato on a Bike, because really, has anyone ever seen a broccoli counting to ten or a sausage reading a book? But wait, how about a…baby being tickled?! Uh-oh, I think the answer for that is—yes way!

The illustrations were on point but it was very repetitive if I could change it I would put more “yes way” in it though I liked that at the end you had to make sure you were watching to see if you read it right I think you might not enjoy it but you might like it so I encourage you to try it anyway!

I got this from the library expecting a funny story about a biking potato, but instead its another horribly repetitive Elise Gravel book where the left page asks if the reader has ever seen a ridiculous thing -- like a potato on a bike -- and the right page yells, "No way!" Over and over. Until it finally ends on a real thing. Not fun. Very dull.

This would make a very fun story time read. I could really see the audience getting in on the “No Way” portions. And it could easily be turned into a puppet or storyboard story. It is very similar to the Down By the Bay song where it asks over and over again if you have ever seen something ridiculous. The illustrations are spot on simple, making this a very enjoyable read.

A Potato on a Bike by Elise Gravel is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. This a book made for the very young audience. It has adorable but crazy simple pictures of impossible things happening. Crazy enough that it will bring a smile to a young child's face. There is very few words but they match the pictures. Very cute book!
