      1 Soldier of the Muse

      My name for God

      is muse

      Monday morning

      she crouches

      next to my bed

      whispers gently

      in my ear

      Get the fuck up

      soldier

      we have a mission

      we have work to do

      and so the practice

      continues

      into a sixth season

      I am no-thing

      getting down about it

      getting up again

      You are nothing

      she reminds me

      so be at peace

      2 Peace Grace Truth

      The heart of a falling airplane

      is now no more than a thought

      on a September afternoon

      except for the quiet heroes

      coughing up black lung

      remembering alone

      the day the sky fell down 

      a nightmare of rubble,

      broken glass and wire,

      concrete dust and evil agendas.

      But a good man reborn,

      and a damaged woman

      maybe will get their day

      of peace, grace, truth

      when  ashy  clouds divide

      and the sun inevitably returns

      justice to anyone forgotten

      or ignored.
