    You have terrible taste in alcohol, has anyone ever told you that? Alex said. She was sitting next to Elizabeth at a quiet bar. Alex had a mixed drink in hand, while Elizabeth had a small bottle in front of her.

    That’s because it tastes terrible, Elizabeth replied, taking another small drink. It tastes worse than I remember.

    Why drink soju, anyway? Alex asked. There’s plenty of alcohols from Rukast that are just as cheaply made, just as concentrated, taste just as bad, and you don’t need to search for just the right bar to find them.

    Elizabeth smiled a little, It tastes like good memories, she said. When we used to get together and had to smuggle drinks in this is what we had. Small bottles, high alcohol content, and readily available. She took another drink, Maybe I’m a bit nostalgic is all, back before we were all actual officers. People were less weird around me back then.

    That’s so clichéd it hurts me, Alex said with a laugh. I’m glad we could do this. I like feeling like I’m alone with you.

    You feel it, too? Elizabeth asked.

    This is a VIP kind of place, being well known for something is less noteworthy, Alex answered.

    I never seem to notice much. Only people who really care know what I look like outside of a uniform anyway, Elizabeth added.

    It’s a shame we can’t do this more often, Alex said. Our schedules never sync up when big things happen.

    It would be nice to spend a day with you, Elizabeth admitted. You at least see me as a person.
