      INTRODUCTION

      This book contains a collection of powerful Word prayers adapted from the Word of God. Many of the prayers may contain statements describing events that are not taking place in your life, your home, or your church. Don’t let this hinder your prayers. Remember, Abraham was called faithful and righteous because he called those things which ‘be not as though they were’ (Rom 4:17-18). Your confession of the scriptures, in faith, will bring about those things for which you are praying.

      The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword (Heb 4:12). It is alive and active. God Himself watches over His Word to perform it, or to make sure it comes to pass (Jer 1:12). God’s Word shall never return void but always accomplishes that for which it is sent (Isa. 55:11). Even the angels hearken to His word and are ministering spirits sent to minister for us (Ps 105:20; Heb 1:14). I Corinthians 14:15 says, I will pray in the spirit (which means in our heavenly language  tongues) and I will pray with the understanding also.

      When I pray, I like to pray the Word and then pray in tongues for a while as I wait on the Lord Jesus to see if He wants me to pray further for the area at hand. Very often He will drop things into my spirit. I then pray according to the understanding He has given me. Then back to tongues and then the Word again.

      This is a very effective way to pray. Always have one ear tuned to the Holy Spirit in you as you pray. Develop a hearing ear. Don’t be a parrot, simply regurgitating the Word of God from your mind. It is to be prayed in faith - believing. Remember, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God and faith is of the heart. When you have stored all the wonderful Word contained in this book in your heart, give the book to a friend and allow the Lord to bring all these scriptures to your remembrance as needed in prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to freshly anoint your intercession.

      Always pray specifically. Perhaps use a prayer journal and write down whom and what you are praying for, as well as your scriptural basis Then go back over your journal from time to time and thank the Lord for the answers. Don’t hesitate to continue to bring an issue before the Lord more than once. The earnest (heartfelt continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working) James 5:16 (Amp)

      PRAYERS FOR OUR NATION AND THE CHURCH

      Prayer For Our Nation

      "Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence."

      2 Tim 2:1-2

      Father, we come to You today and pray for our Nation and its leaders. We know that Proverbs 29:2 says, When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Therefore, we cry unto You to move on their hearts, save their souls or remove them from office, in Jesus’ Name. Let light shine in the darkness of their minds and may they come to their right mind and escape out of the snare the devil has set for us all.

      Lord we know that king’s hearts are in the hand of the Lord and You turn them wherever You like, just as the water course.

      Therefore, today we pray that You take the hearts of those who rule over us and turn their hearts toward righteousness and wisdom from above. Visit them in the night hours in dreams and visions. Show up with writing on their walls or a personal visit from Jesus, that they may awake out of their sleep and rule the country with Your wisdom and the right hand of Your righteousness.

      Send a vision or dream as You did to Pharaoh that only a man of God could interpret. Or, as You did to King Nebuchadnezzar, even if it makes them sick and unable to eat or sleep. Speak to our leaders in Jesus’ Name we pray!

      Write Your wisdom on their walls as You did to get the King’s attention in Daniel 5.

      Lord, we humble ourselves before You this day. We are Your people and we are called by Your Name. We pray and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. We know then that You will hear from heaven and will forgive our sin and heal our land.

      Forgive the sins of this nation Father. The abortion, the moral decay and the wickedness of the hearts of people; this nation’s disrespect for You and the dishonour this nation has brought You. We repent on behalf of this nation in Jesus’ Name.

      Lord have mercy on us and deliver us from terrorists and the evil men and woman that come to destroy our land, for You have ordained peace for us in Jesus’ Name.

      Yes, Lord, although others reject Israel
