This week, I continue my series, Islam 101: Meet Your Muslim Neighbor. Manar Allatar is a Ph. D. student at Portland State University in the School of the Environment. She volunteers with youth at her mosque, Masjed As-Saber, and speaks with me about Islam and the empowerment of women, Islam and youth, and addressing Islamophobia.
