Show 745 Jim Rasenberger presents a history of the Bay of Pigs crisis. The failed military invasion of Cuba in 1961 that was supported by the United States government resulted in the capture or death of over 1,000 men. The author examines the Kennedy administration's slow divulgement of American involvement in the attempted incursion, which included U.S. military planning and support for the 1,400 Cuban exiles that were trained by the Central Intelligence Agency. Jim Rasenberger spoke and responded to questions from members of the audience at Books & Books in Coral Gables, Florida.
