Description
Exploring the role of performance to promote healing and raise awareness. "We have to get really clear about the fact that any sex without full consent is rape. I think it is very difficult for people to hear that." - Imogen Butler-Cole In this episode Amisha meets actress and writer Imogen Butler-Cole, creator of acclaimed theatre show "Foreign Body" exploring the subject of sexual assault. Imogen speaks about creating theatre that is both deeply personal and highly political, how "Foreign Body" is helping other survivors to process their own experiences and why she invited the perpetrator of her own assault to be part of it. In the wake of the #metoo and #timesup campaigns she explores why it is so difficult to accept that people we know and trust are capable of sexual violence, and how doing so might bring constructive responses such as workplace guidelines around sexual violence and healing interventions for people who are at risk of perpetrating.
