Description

Critical Thinking Question:
What is the real purpose of government?

Topic:
This (third part of three) is the continuation of a two-part discussion I recently had with Wes Bertrand. On September 18th, I tried to weave a series of loosely related thoughts together into one topic, while driving. I wasn't thrilled with the result. I eventually contacted Wes to help me try to make sense of it all.

This is an examination of how fantasy is used to manage personal and/or political anxiety, the relationship between the personal and the political, and how outrage and attack are employed to deal with the disruption of fantasy.

Discussed Today:
-Trust in government coming back?
-Faith and Force
-Violence as virtue
-The historical purpose of government
-People in NYC loved the Gambino Family. Why?
