Welcome to an exciting episode!  My guest is Stephanie O’Dea, who is known as “The Crockpot Lady.”  She has written numerous NY Times bestsellers about Crockpot cooking and being a “Mommy blogger.”  Her newest cookbook will be released this fall; it has five-ingredient, gluten-free recipes.
In 2006, Stephanie’s 22-month-old daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease after constant bouts of sickness and vomiting.  When she started eating gluten-free (GF), she was no longer sick.  The entire family went GF at that point, and Stephanie began experimenting with GF cooking from scratch.  Crockpot cooking became the norm.  It was also at this point that she started blogging about her Crockpot recipes, which were also GF.
Stephanie relates the following tips from her experience:

How to handle school parties and times when her daughter is away from home.
How to eat out safely, and what foods to take with her.
How to use apps and searches to locate GF restaurants.
How to shop at the grocery store to utilize whole foods.
How to approach specialty GF foods and test for tolerance.

Because Stephanie relied on her Crockpot for much of her family’s meals, she naturally transitioned to blogging and writing recipes and cookbooks.  She covers the following Crockpot topics:

Tips for cooking boneless, skinless, chicken breasts.
Tips for using the Crockpot for busy family schedules.
Tips for cooking vegetables.
Tips for utilizing a programmable Crockpot to your advantage.
Tips for cleaning a crusty Crockpot!
Tips for the easiest Crockpot meals ever!

There are more products and more information about living gluten-free than ever before!  Since Stephanie began this journey several years ago, she has been a pioneer in researching and experimenting.  Listen to learn more, and take advantage of her resources!
