About this ebook

The #1 New York Times bestselling FBI Thriller series returns with another tour de force in which agents Savich and Sherlock stumble into a bizarre case that’s more complicated and twisted than any they’ve ever encountered.

On a Tuesday afternoon, Agent Sherlock is driving in downtown Washington when her Volvo is suddenly T-boned at an intersection. As her car spins out of control, a man’s body slams against her windshield and then – blackness. When she finally regains consciousness in the hospital, she’s told about the accident and the man she struck. No one knows yet who he is or where he is because he ran away. From DNA, they discover his name is Justice Cummings and he’s a CIA analyst at Langley . . . and he’s still missing.

Meanwhile, in the small town of Gaffer’s Ridge, Virginia, Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith rescues Carson DeSilva, a kidnapped woman who claims her captor had probably murdered three missing teenage girls. However, the man she accuses is the local sheriff’s nephew and a member of a very powerful family, reputed to have special powers. When the sheriff arrests Griffin and Carson, he calls Savich for help. Together they have to weave their way through a labyrinth of lies to find the truth of a terrible secret.

Labyrinth is an electrifying novel with shocking twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What fun! How have I missed Catherine Coulter??? And to think she has 84 other books I haven't read! An almost page turner book.

Another exciting, non-stop, action-packed adventure! As always, there are two different cases to solve – and I can’t decide which one I thought was better, because they were both great. Yes, we have another winner to add to this impressive series. One case involves treason – Oh! My! As Sherlock is driving toward the gym to meet Savich, her car is t-boned by a black SUV. Her car is sent into a spin where she strikes several other cars – and a man – before it finally comes to rest against a fire hydrant. Sherlock is rushed to the hospital where her most serious injury is head trauma – and – she has amnesia. Can you imagine how terrifying it would be to awaken and have no idea who you were and not remember any of the people around you – even your own husband and son?As Savich and his team review all of the video taken of the accident, they pick up on something strange. The man Sherlock hit is missing, it appears that he was running from someone and the woman who hit Sherlock was watching the man who was hit. Coincidence after coincidence just pique Savich’s interest and before long they are on the trail of a traitor and espionage at the highest levels of the CIA.The other case involves the vacationing Agent Griffin Hammersmith. His last case was a long and tough one and Savich had insisted he take a few days off. Griffin decided to visit a good friend in Gaffer’s Ridge, Virginia and had a quiet peaceful couple of days. As he was walking one afternoon, there was a call for help – and then again. When he finally locates the origins, he bursts through the door and sees a man pointing a gun at a woman. Griffin kicks the gun out of the man’s hand while the woman hits the man on the head with a piece of pipe. The woman, Dr. Carson DeSilva, and Griffin soon find that they have a lot in common, but before they can explore that, they have to deal with a Sheriff who is also the uncle of the man with the gun. The whole town is owned by the man and his family, so justice won’t be coming easily. Was that man responsible for the kidnapping and perhaps murder of three teenage girls? The investigation will be very difficult with the sheriff and his family impeding them at every turn. This author always spins a very suspenseful tale that is intriguing, unique and keeps you wondering where it is going next. I love all of the characters in the series and look forward to visiting with them again in each new book. I think we might have a new addition to the mix with Dr. DeSilva as the love interest of Griffin.All-in-all this is a great read and I highly recommend it – and the other books in the series as well.

I don't usually allow myself to take an ARC when I haven't read the rest of the series. I figure that I wouldn't know enough about the background of the characters, but I allowed myself to indulge this time because the synopsis made the book sound so exciting and so many of her other books got such kudos. Plus it is such a long-running series that I figured it must be excellent.Yes, this was an interesting book for being half FBI thriller and half speculative fiction. I must wonder if Ms. Coulter writes all of her books with two distinct and separate stories/plot-lines and if they are always featuring the paranormal?Unfortunately what kept this book from getting more stars is the fact that two different stories were going on at the same time and I was unable to work up enough emotion and to keep the passion I did manage to get to continue throughout the novel.Spoiler----Sherlock's amnesia was a useful plot device and will keep the faithful reader wondering about the future. The next problem I had was parts of the ending just seemed like excessive usage of monologues on the roles of some of the characters. The speeches were more of a 'verbal vomiting' of everyone's guilt and a very cliched end to one of the main characters.Although I wasn't thrilled with this particular book -I did like it well enough to look into the rest of the series.*ARC supplied by the publisher.

How could you not love a book that describes an FBI Agent’s hair color as “Titian”?! Catherine Coulter never disappoints, even when she is throwing you a curveball and running several plots and storylines within the pages of Labyrinth. To appropriate the author’s words, there are too many pieces to the puzzle, too many possible turns and Agents Savich, Sherlock, Hammersmith, and all those other characters I have come to love have a tough time finding the key to unlock it. This is another strong installment in the “FBI Thriller” series. Every time I started to put it down I figured I had enough time for one more chapter. So lunch became a piece of fruit and those errands that required my attention, well, nothing that couldn’t be put off. Ms. Coulter’s writing is as strong as her characters and as Agent Savich writes in his report; “There will be further developments, there always are.” Can’t wait.Thank you NetGalley and Gallery, Pocket Books for a copy
