    INTRODUCTION

    In the year 2008, I read a disturbing research article that revealed that 12.5% of all marriages contracted in the western world originated via the internet. By 2014, when I read the latest version of the same research, the percentage had gone up to 25%. As this growth continues, the growth in divorce and separation also continue. One simple reason for the increase in the divorce rate is that our world has mastered the art of deceit and packaging. Though you are ultimately interested in the content of a product, what you buy in most cases is the container or the packaging. Don’t ask me which is more important between the content and the container. Let us take the average age at marriage to be 25years and the life expectancy to be 75years. If you don’t want to have any separation or divorce, we can reasonably conclude that 67% of your life will be in relationship with the person you intend to marry. If that percentage looks significant, then you need to get it right about whom to marry.

    When the relationship of two young adults seems to be going in the right direction, at some point the young man will ask the lady – ‘Will you marry me?’ The lady, if she is so disposed, will answer, ‘yes I will’. There is no law that states a lady cannot initiate the move and of course there are many ways the ladies do it today. That, however, is not the sunject of this discussion. What I would like you to consider, dear friend, is another fundamental question which ought to precede will you marry me? and which ought to precede yes I will.
