Introduction

The Big Bang model is accepted as the current framework theory in cosmology. The word framework here implies that physicists have some problems with the model, but nonetheless the idea behind it stands. The theory presents the outline story of the universe, or in other words, it gives us a sketch of the universe without going into local details. Note that this does not mean its predictions are not detailed, rather that the predictions are ones for the whole universe.

The model came to be following an observation. The observation is that on large scales everything we see is moving away from us and the further away it is the faster it moves away. This observation leads us to the conclusion that as time moves forward, the universe itself is expanding.

To see how an expanding universe fits the observation a common example is of a balloon with dots painted evenly on it.

The balloon represents the universe and the stars galaxies. Once the balloon expands with time, which can be done by blowing it up over time, and we look from the perspective of one of the stars on it, we get a picture that fits our observation. In
