Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow - Joseph H Hallman

    Dedication

I have decided to dedicate the writings of this book to my forefathers and their Christian heritage; from Switzerland and Germany to Lancaster County Pennsylvania, USA and Waterloo Region Ontario, Canada.

Also to my Father and Mother for their devotion to God’s Word. They lived and taught their children according to the Word of God, and for that I am eternally grateful.

God’s Word is truth; No others are required.

    About The Author

    Foreword

I have been under conviction now for a number of years to explore the word of God more extensively. Over the last three years or so I have been reading and collecting information from various sources including the word God gave us, newspaper and magazine clippings, articles from around the globe , television programs, interviews, books and sermons to expand my knowledge and try to understand the true meaning of our world today.

Reading the Bible helped me to understand the many views and opinions of those who came before us. It helped me navigate through the ever so turbulent sea of information that I had uncovered. The internet, although it holds a wealth of knowledge, facts, opinions, theories and wisdom, it also holds many untruths and make believes. God will help us to calm the seas, part the clouds and sift through the sands of information, if he is asked.

Now that my eyes are open and I can clearly see what God intended with his Word, I have chosen to share the knowledge and information that He has laid upon my heart. With His hand on mine, this book was written to help you with your journey of understanding His Word; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

This is my first attempt at writing. At times, you may find my writing to be unclear, hard to follow or understand, but bear with me, in time you will find out who I am for—or against.

I have organized my writing into three books—Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. I feel that each of these books should follow one another in sequence according to God’s Holy Word.

    God bless his Holy Word.

    Book One

    Yesterday

    Origin of the Holy Bible

This book has been written under the inspiration of God’s word (the holy word), which includes both the Old Testament (Genesis 1 to Malachi 4) and the New Testament (Matthew 1 to Revelations 22), as given to our human race under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The King James version of the bible was written from 1604-1611, during the reign of King James I of Great Britain, France, and Ireland. It was a time of unrest in England, as a battle was taking place between darkness and light (today we would call it spiritual warfare). At this time, the Church of England, under King James (God’s hand was on King James), passed a decree (i.e., a judgment through the court of law) to have God’s word, as they knew it in the 17th century, printed in book form. By 1611 the Church of England finally had God’s word in print to use for worship.
