Introduction

I want to thank you and congratulate you for downloading the book, Anxiety Management How To Manage Anxiety Thoughts To Overcome Social Anxiety Worry Avoidance And Improve Your Self Confidence. This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to manage anxiety.

No matter how strong, well-bred, or exemplary you have been in life, you cannot deny the fact that at some point or the other you must have felt anxious. There is not a single human being alive who hasn’t undergone or experienced anxiousness in his or her life. This assertion is enough to state that anxiety is perfectly normal, and people who suffer from anxiety are ordinary and normal people.

This brings us to the most important question that this book is expected to answer: what is anxiety? Anxiety is an emotion that the human body produces when it is faced with situations of threat or when the individual feels that he or she will not be able to cope with the situation on his or her own. If you attempt to list out the situations or circumstances that have made you anxious, I am sure you will list something like ‘first job interview’ or ‘a public speech,’ to name a few.

The situations and circumstances that will make you anxious cannot be predicted with any percentage of probability in view of the fact that the situations that make you anxious may not make me anxious and vice-a-versa. The situations that you perceive as threatening may not be threatening to me, so my body does not react the same way your body does. The intensity of this perception also varies from individual to individual and so does the reaction. It is precisely as simple as this.

That being said, some people feel anxious at things that are otherwise not considered threatening much more than others, and the reaction generated by them is also rather grave. This reaction can be unbearable for some people so much so that it starts interfering with their day-to-day life, hindering the way in which they lead their lives. Coping with such situations and people suffering from such situations can be rather difficult.

If you are someone facing the anxiety issue or are associated with someone who is, this book is a perfect guide to help you understand the problem. Moreover, it shall also help you learn techniques and ways to deal with such situations immediately and on the long-term basis. Before you begin, start with an open mind, and by no means consider yourself or the individual facing the anxiety issue ‘abnormal.’ The situation is challenging, but it is manageable. Read the book to know why and how.

Thanks again for downloading this book, I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1: Understanding the Anxiety Problem

Although the anxiety problem is unpleasant and excessively disturbing both to the individual concerned and the people around him or her, anxiety is absolutely normal and harmless. Some of the initial symptoms that a person may experience due to anxiety include increased heart rate, nervousness, and shortness of breath, in addition to several others. In fact, the list of symptoms that are classified as an anxiety response is quite extensiveg. This response is usually triggered by a situation that is seemingly threatening for the individual.

How is Anxiety a Normal Reaction?

Whenever an individual is faced with a situation that his or her body considers threatening and potentially harmful, the body
