Anna The Cockatiel is a delightful children's book narrated by Anna, a female cockatiel, from the time she hatched out of her tiny white egg and popped into this world. A bully named Blue that is a Blue Quaker parrot attacks Anna and pulls out all of her pretty long tail feathers. In order to save Anna from being bullied, her owner has to find her a new home.

    LaVonna Moore is a native Oklahoman born in 1960 at the Ft. Sill Army Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. With her father being in the military, she was able to do a lot of traveling as a child. She has lived in many states within the U.S. and for a short time in Hanau, Germany. Her father retired from the Army while living in Del City, Oklahoma, where she graduated high school in 1978. She has a stepson named Chance Storts. LaVonna has two brothers and two sisters. LaVonna began working in the legal field when she was 20 years old. She was a legal secretary for 20 years.

      BLIZZARD & SNOWBALL

      Guy was walking home from school one stormy afternoon. He witnessed something that he hoped he would never see again. A car raced past him, and someone rolled down one of the windows. Then Guy saw someone throw a black trash bag out the window, and it landed on the side of the road. The car never stopped and quickly sped off out of sight. Guy saw the license plate of the car. Guy couldn't believe what he just saw. He saw the bag start moving. He rushed over to the bag and ripped it open as fast as he could. What he found in the bag was shocking! There were two little Siberian Husky puppies in the bag! They looked about seven or eight weeks old. They were cute little balls of fur. It broke his heart to see someone do this to them. He wondered how anyone could be so mean. He picked both of the puppies up and ran home with them. He told his mother what had just happened. She thought the puppies were so adorable. They seemed to be okay, but they were very scared and shaking. Guy asked his mother if he could keep the puppies. His mother quickly answered, No! He asked her why he couldn't keep them. She said they couldn't keep two big dogs. Then he asked her if he could keep one of the puppies, and he would try to find a home for the other puppy. His mother finally told him he could keep one of the puppies if he promised to take good care of it. He promised his mother that he would take great care of his new little puppy.

      Guy told his mother that he had seen the license plate of the car. He wrote the license plate down for his mother. The next day she took Guy to the police station. He told the police what he had seen and gave them the license plate number of the car. Guy hoped that they would find the people that did this to the poor little puppies.

      Guy named his new little puppy Blizzard. Blizzard had beautiful blue eyes! Guy fell in love with Blizzard, and they did everything together from that day on.

      He found a wonderful home for the other little puppy. His best friend and neighbor named Austin wanted the other little puppy. He was so glad that Austin took the puppy because he would still get to see the puppy all the time. Austin named his little puppy Snowball because his little puppy was solid white! Snowball had beautiful blue eyes too!

      Guy and Austin had so much fun playing in the snow with their new puppies, Blizzard and Snowball. Blizzard and Snowball both loved running and rolling in the snow.

      The Siberian Husky has a double coat. They are made for minus temperatures. Their double coat will protect them from minus fifty-eight degrees to minus seventy-six degrees! Their large snowshoe feet have hair between the toes to help keep them warm and grip on the ice. Some Siberian Huskies have one blue eye and one brown eye! There are several different colors of Siberian Huskies. They are strong working sled dogs. Siberian Huskies are loving, gentle, playful, happy-go-lucky dogs that are very fond of their families. This is a high-energy dog, especially when young. They are very good with children and friendly with strangers. They don't make good watchdogs because they bark very little, and they love everyone. Huskies are very smart and trainable, but they will only obey a command if they see the human is stronger minded than themselves. Huskies also love to howl.

      Guy told Austin that when the puppies got older and big enough, they would have sled races! Austin thought that would be so neat. Blizzard and Snowball grew and grew. It wasn't long before they were grown and big enough to pull a sled.

      Guy and Austin bought their sleds and couldn't wait to go sledding with their dogs. They had to work hard to train them to pull a sled. It didn't take long
