Introduction
The first year of your baby’s life is definitely an exciting and awe-inspiring time. You will see your baby growing with each passing day. She might be cranky at times, and joyful at others, and the new developments will keep on happening as weeks pass.
As a new parent, this could be quite a prodigious task to take care of. You will be busy taking care of your baby, while also adoring her at the same time.
If the whole task seems a bit overwhelming to you, here is a well-compiled guide that will walk you through all the important developments that you can expect in the first year.
Right from her first days, to taking care of bathing and skin care and comforting her and understanding her temperament, this guide covers all the important elements that you must know about.
Let’s get started.
Entering Into the Parenthood: Baby’s First Days
C:\Users\hp\Downloads\adorable-baby-bed-1556706.jpgSince labor and delivery are processes that are exhausting for both mother and baby, it affects their overall health drastically. While mothers feel exhausted and completely drained, the infants experience a little pain, slight deformation and complete exposure to a new world.
A lot of babies cry a lot on their first days because either there’s too much light in the room or the room temperature is very different from the temperature inside the womb. Parents and doctors need to ensure that the baby is kept under proper protection against heat and cold.
Doctor’s urge mothers to feed their baby as soon as they are born because it adds to their immunity and emotional support system. The process of breastfeeding is more of an emotional connection than a physical one. With the milk, a lot of enzymes are transferred that improve immunity and add to the trust. The overall development of the support system makes it easier for the kid to rely on the mother and become calm.
A lot of important processes like tests, vaccination, and breastfeeding should be combined to leverage the kid with the development of the requisite immune and support system.
Let’s learn more about the kind of deformation a baby suffers during delivery
Pointy Head
Millions of parents have gone on record and mentioned that their kid was born with a pointed head. Well! No baby actually inherits a pointy head, it’s just that the head turns slightly pointed because they cross crevices while coming out of the mother’s womb. The deformation is temporary and has no diverse effects on the health of the baby.
The slight deformation actually assists delivery and saves the mother a lot of pain. With the head turning pointy, it gets easier for the kid to come out. Also, the pointy head turns back to the round shape in less than 2 weeks.
One of the best ways to get rid of a pointy head is to massage it gently with olive oil. With gentle massage on a daily basis, the head will get back into shape and will also have the requisite strength.
The baby appears to be scrunched up
Since your baby has spent around 9 months into the womb, where space is restricted, their body bends in a particular shape. During the first few days after delivery, babies have a shape that looks more like an oval disc.
Scrunched up shape is not something to worry about because it is common and happens with every full-grown baby. In case, babies are prematurely delivered, they might have straight bodies but then they need additional medical support. With the help of regular massage and activities, the babies get into their original shape quite easily.
Paper thin nails and fragile toes
In case, you notice that your newborn has paper thin nails and fragile toes, do not panic, it has got nothing to do
