Here's a chapter from the book and here's to your success...

The Epic Battle for Your Mind: Inner Critic vs. inner Creative Warrior

Right now there’s a major conflict taking place for control of your mind. Yes it’s true. Two powerful internal forces are facing off against each other. And this confrontation is occurring just outside of your awareness.

The first opponent is an adversarial character called your inner Critic (iC). It’s a nasty gremlin that takes your ambition for a brighter future and smothers it before you even realize. Your iC is an insidious demon that has wedged itself between your thoughts and your actions. It’s that negative voice in your head that has hood-winked you into thinking that you’re not smart, talented or worthy enough. Your iC has the power to persuade you to negate your proactive impulses for personal growth.

The other rival in this brawl is called your inner Creative Warrior (iCW). Fortunately, your iCW is on your side and ready to help you overcome the negativity of your iC. Your iCW has a consistently positive and uplifting message. Think of the two adversaries this way: when your iC hits your awareness with an ‘I Can’t’; your iCW counter-punches with an ‘I Can and Will’.

Your iCW is a quiet force, at first. Get to know your iCW and connect with its power. As your relationship deepens, you’ll see the pessimism of your inner Critic rapidly decrease. The self-defeating impact it has on your attention will vanish and be replaced by an enhanced confidence delivered by your iCW. And soon your iC will be a distant memory.

Your inner Creative Warrior is ready and willing to help you move towards your dreams and goals. Always remember that your iCW is a friend, a muse and a personal life coach. You’ll soon win the battle for your mind by teaming up with the supportive strength and pervasive power of your iCW.

Your iCW to the rescue...

How to Connect With Your Creative Warrior

“Awareness is the greatest agent for change.” -Eckhart Tolle

Looking back at my life I can see that there were several attempts by my iCW to break through to my conscious mind. Many were successful in that they pushed me to take action. However, I wasn’t aware of the source at the time. I never gave it a second thought. Or even a first thought.

Here’s an analogy that you may be familiar with: Your two-way radio is tuned to a random channel that you can hardly hear. There are people talking. You pick up bits and pieces of what they’re saying. For years you do this. Yet, you never learn who they are or what they are actually talking about. And worst of all, you never realize your finger is touching the button that, when gently pressed, would allow you to communicate with the world.

Here’s how to connect with your inner Creative Warrior:

    Foreword

Success. It’s all about YOU. You define it. You dream it. You go for it. It’s a lonely pursuit. Or is it?

I’ve written this book to introduce you to a source of power that will put you on the road to success. And the big news…you already possess this awesome gift. You were born with it. Yes, I’ll say it again. You were born with a secret source for success, which you can tap into any time you desire. It’s called your Creative Warrior.

You may be thinking this sounds too good to be true. I understand it’s hard to believe as we’re taught to not take gifts from strangers. Except your Creative Warrior is not a stranger. It’s an integral part of you.

You may be thinking that I’m talking about intuition. Your Creative Warrior is that and much more. Like a muse, it’ll inspire you with new thoughts and creative ideas. Like a personal trainer, it’ll motivate you to work through your personal challenges. Like a good friend, it’ll boost your confidence whenever you feel low. Best of all, it’ll serve as your personal navigator on the road to success.

Are you ready to meet your Creative Warrior? I bet you are. Turn the page to start your journey of a lifetime!

    Preface

This book is the story of how I discovered my Creative Warrior. Or, more to the point, how my Creative Warrior refused to be ignored by me.

I’ve written the book as a 22-day journal. Why 22 days? It’s a random number since I could have picked an earlier time as the starting point of my journey. However, many psychologists say that 21 days is the minimum time it takes to break a habit. And waking up to my life, as opposed to sleep-walking through it, was quite the habit to break. Then I added one bonus chapter to wrap up my journey: 21 + 1 = 22.

Each day (chapter) of the book has a theme, i.e. courage, action, success, etc. After the daily journal entry, I include a brief section on what an observer would see if he were watching me as I progress on my journey. The chapter ends with a three-step ‘How To’ section to help you implement the lesson learned during that day.

You can choose to read the book in three different ways:

    1. Skip the How To sections and read my journey as a story from start to finish. After completion, circle back to read the How To sections.

    2. Skip the journal entries and read the How To sections and then try them for yourself. These are the skills you’ll need to achieve your goals. Then go back and read my story.

    3. Read the book in order: daily journal entry, observer notes and How To sections.

Whichever option you choose, you’ll experience the benefits of the book…as long as you take action to put yourself in the driver’s seat on the road to your personal success.

Enjoy the journey with your Creative Warrior as navigator!

Pre Day 1: Orientation for Readers

This book is the story of how I connected with my inner Creative Warrior, also known as iCW. And it will help you discover yours. It’s my story AND your guidebook.

I don’t want to give away the story’s ending, but I will tell you that the beginning of my journey is naturally filled with doubt and uncertainty. However, as with all tales of transformation, it gets better quickly. Stick with it and I promise it’ll be worth your while.

Best wishes for an exciting, energizing and enlightening journey as you progress on your road to success!

Day 1: Hey, Who Moved my Cheese?!

    Awake, 6:00

My alarm rings and I’m totally ready...to go back to sleep. I hit the snooze button and then do it again five minutes later. It’s not that I don’t want to get up and start my day. It’s just that when I’m comfortable I prefer to stay that way. Doesn’t everybody?

    Breakfast, 6:34

I’m not hungry today but eat anyway. People say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I’m not one to make waves. They also say that we need to eat healthier. I read that seeds contain high nutritional value. Note to self: order Big Mac with a sesame seed bun. Ahh, I’m feeling healthier already.

    On Train, 7:15

Got my seat. It’s technically not mine but everyone knows that’s where I sit. One time, I entered the train to find a stranger sitting there. I plopped onto the seat next to him knowing full well that I could’ve left a free seat between us. He didn’t say a word. Not even a nod. If you ask me, that was quite rude of him.

    In Meeting, 9:01

I’m patiently waiting for the first meeting of the day to begin. I hear there’s an issue with one of my projects missing an important deadline. Nothing I can do now except blame it on the system. That works like a get out of jail free card.
