Introduction
Student World is a group of college lecturers and professors. We understand how high school and college students feel when they are given to read literature, especially classics. They generally get lost in the long and complex sentences, a parade of characters, and shifting narratives, thus making it difficult for them to make head from tail.
Our guide books are written in very simple and clear language, without exaggerating the facts. We do not include our opinions and never become too subjective while analyzing the works of literature.
We try to make our books as easy as possible for students to read them and learn from them so that when they read the original texts of the classics or other works of literature, they are prepared and they know what the work is about.
In this book we have included introduction to the book, plot overview, about major characters, complete summary, and critical analysis.
Although we know that some students do not want to read the original text of A Long Walk to Water
because they prepare only to pass their exams or tests, yet we insist that they read the original text of the book so that they can understand the subtle aspects of the narrative which can't be presented in this treatise.

A Long Walk to Water
by Linda Sue Park was first published in 2010. It is a short novel. The novel tells the true story of Salva Dut. It also tells the imaginary story of Nya, a young village girl, a part of the Nuer tribe.
Through this book, the author has attempted to support Dut’s program, Water for South Sudan.
During an interview, when the author was asked about the source of inspiration that led to the writing of this novel, Park answered that her inspiration had come directly from the protagonist of the book, Salva Dut, who was a family friend. Park further said that her husband came to know Salva Dut furst in the year 2004.
Park’s husband, Ben Dobbins, is a journalist. He had been interviewing Salva Dut in relation to his charity program, Water for Sudan. Park further added that she met Salva Dut several times. She admitted that Salva Dut’s story amazed her. She added that she continued to tell people that she knew about Salva Dut. Eventually, she decided to write that story so that she could tell more people about Salva Dut and his charity Water for Sudan.
According to Linda Park, Salva Dut had written a kind of memoir, but it was actually a list of the events that he had experienced. Park used that memoir to create the plot of the present book and then created imaginary dialogue for the scenes. Eventually, she was
